Good…although it’s a ‘partial climbdown.’ Keep up the pressure! www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

I’m at that stage of ten days before deadline where I have no idea what day it is and my diet consists of coffee, chocolate and grapes (OK…wine). Send kind thoughts. Please don’t send Keanu. I don’t have the time or the energy.

Take your pick…and happy whatever day you choose!

Sharing for the morning gang! 🤓

It’s a moody, damp, dark, gothic, feminist tale. With eels for flavor. Loved this advanced copy of The Homecoming by Zoë Apostolides from @saltpublishing.com Could have used a few more eels though. 😉 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It would be rude not to…

I love a dialogue.

Remember the people getting rid of sexual assault and misconduct rules for children spent a lot of time on Epstein's island. www.thedailybeast.com/trump-orders...

It’s Monday…here’s something uplifting to start the week…Max Ehrmann's Desiderata. And if you don't want to read the whole thing, take my favourite line away with you: "With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world."

As Elif Shafak says, “The silencing of women’s voices is not a thing of the past.” On 26 March she’ll join Sandi Toksvig, EmmaGH and Zahra Joya to discuss both the historical and present-day silencing of women. www.theguardian.com/guardian-liv...

Karma.

Such a lovely guy. This is desperately sad. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Well deserved #theCWA #diamonddagger #mickherron

The Wolf moon at sunrise. It’s going to be a beautiful day.

Does the education system let down children with special needs? Hell yes, as today’s PAC report shows. Does the healthcare system let down people with special/additional needs? Also yes. Will anyone do anything about it? Of course not, as any parent of a SEND child can tell you.

My recipe for life…

“Nice people don't necessarily fall in love with nice people.” Jonathan Franzen, Freedom

Someone admired my nails today and I thanked them, saying: “When you’re holding two fingers up to the world…or at least, a certain someone…it’s always good to make sure those fingers are manicured.” There you go - a metaphor for life. Move over Lao Tzu…

My annual reminder to take into the New Year…not least for myself.

Indeed.

As is traditional by now, I won’t be posting my cards until Christmas Eve…and I even went so far as to make them this year featuring Xena with her ‘get me out of here’ stare. All I can say is that the only thing that really matters at Christmas is love and those you love. Sending you lots of that!

Set the world on fire today!

An amazing young woman…

Also: If you don't have money to buy my (or anyone's) books, and you live in the anglosphere, before you pirate them, try to get them from your local library instead. They have it or can get it, they pay for the books, and in many places writers get paid for their books being lent. Everyone wins!
