Was just talking to T about this the other day, putting ai in robots. techcrunch.com/2025/02/20/f...

The rose from a cutting from my friend that we planted in September has bloomed! It doesn’t look like any rose I’ve ever seen though! 🌹🌱

Tulip and Clover brand crochet hooks are my favourites. During a recent trip to Japan I realised I’ve been paying way too much for them all this while. Clover ¥650 -> $16.90 NZD Tulip Etimo ¥900 -> $19.50 NZD Is NZ an anomaly? 🧶

One of the cool things I saw in Japan that I didn’t buy. A blue Japanese dinosaur ceramic plate casually sitting next to a pile of under plates under a table in an Osaka market (hence the odd angle) 🦕

I went out of my comfort zone a bit and made this little ceramic dinosaur! It’s a sinosauropteryx, one of the few dinosaurs we actually know the color of! I just love their fluffy, red striped tails. This little guy will be available this Friday, January 17th at 12pm Eastern!

I don't know how many of y'all are watching the migration of American TikTokers to RedNote, but it's the most fascinating thing I've EVER SEEN HAPPEN ONLINE. 🧵

Made my first pompom and added it to the crochet ribbed winter hat I made earlier. It’s a bit small but cute. Probably needs a trim too. 🧶

"The future of social media seems to be one in which the production of content is being privileged over social interactions and social connections. It doesn't need to be that way, though," said Lai-Tze Fan, an associate professor at the University of Waterloo… https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7424641

The CEO of Watch Duty used his skills as a software engineer to build the app to amplify fire safety information as a public service: “Techies are obsessed with going to Mars and inventing an AGI robot to do art. But I’m obsessed with time and life.” sfstandard.com/2025/01/09/w...

Crocs for your fingers at a ¥100 store #JapanTravel

Went looking for mechanical keyboards in Japan. ⌨️ they have a huge collection compared to where I live. Only problem is most of them were Japaneses language keyboards. Not many secondhand ones either. #MechanicalKeyboards

Ornaments launch on my shop tomorrow (Dec 17th) at 10am MST!

Today at Church Blogmatics, a guest post on Bathsheba, for Advent, from @bethallisonbarr.bsky.social open.substack.com/pub/bethfelk...

After struggling with the Italian cast-on for sooo long I finally settled on an alternating cable cast-on for my ribbed hat. It looks a lot more structured and I’m able to keep track of it better so it doesn’t get all twisted up when using the magic loop technique. #knitting 🧶

I never posted this here, but I made a pretty big write-up over on Tumblr for anyone interested in learning #pixelart! It's a guide on software, fundamentals, jargon and resources. Since links are legal on Bsky I can share it: www.tumblr.com/tofupixel/75... #tutorial Hope someone finds it useful!

Baby Blanket finally done! It’s 65cm x 65cm. I crocheted a 5 stitch ribbing for the edge instead of the one recommended by the pattern. 🧶

Ummm… I had to.

Quality long read. One of the many takeaways is that these companies are often lead by people who are in no way equipped to deal with the social and ethical ramifications of their products.

Making a baby blanket for our neighbours 1 month old. Using this pattern: https://daisyfarmcrafts.com/crochet-wildflower-blanket/ Really like the texture, but it’s taking a lot longer than expected! 🧶

I learnt this weekend that it’s really easy to crack a ‘cheap’ combination bike lock by following the instructions on the internet. Pictured is T’s bike lock that I managed to open on the 1st try using one set of instructions. He’d lost the combination for few years ago. Buy better locks people!

Researching and reporting my story about how truly horrible Facebook has become genuinely rattled me, and changed how I looked at the internet permanently. It's important to understand how messed up they are. www.wheresyoured.at/killingfaceb...

New Orleans out here innovating in bread shapes. Say hello to the challigator.

Growing luffa has been a bit of a struggle this spring. Seedlings got eaten by slugs/snails, then most of the seeds we bought failed to germinate. Currently have 3 seedlings left. We were shocked when little guy decided to flower. Is this too early? It has only 1-2 leaves. 🌱 #NZGardening

Make 2D animated remakes of live action classics, you cowards!

A strawberry ball 🍓🌱

🧵 During the pandemic we decided make five wide flowerbeds along the edges of our lawn. Our criteria was low $ and I wanted a lot of perennial color. I’d grown veggies for 15 years but my experience with flowers was buying assorted annuals and perennials in pots and crossing my fingers 🤞🌱

Came across a band practice at an old rifle range today.

3-D printed stitch markers and cute case.

Did you know in 2012 I wrote and illustrated a book? It's a 100% factual book about prehistoric vegetables, full of very accurate illustrations of these marvellous beasts. All of the book's profits go towards Lung Cancer research. Get your copy here: bit.ly/1JuQqgG

Excited to see so many new people to follow 😍

Stopping MS Word from scanning your docs to train its LLM takes five clicks, opens three windows, and when you get there the option is called "connected experiences." 😑 #ShittyFuture
