Three updates: 1. The Justice Department has deleted a database tracking federal police misconduct. The database was first proposed in 2020 following the police killing of George Floyd.

I’ve been using this visual reference for years for nude forms and just realized how biased it is—there are only white bodies in this book. It’s also predominantly women. Some men, but about 80-85% of the photographs are of white women. This says so much.

Wise words from photos found on the internet.

This is terrifying.

What the actual fuck?! America, it’s time to rise. When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty!

Had a text convo with my baby cousin comforting her on young emerging worker career grief and the pitfalls of capitalism. These are a particular rarified type of family conversation that should be more commonplace.

Resist.

This country has seen some bad moments in the 61 years, 5 months, 16 days I’ve been on this Earth. But it has never, ever before come close to the supertoxic level of stupidity, mendacity, narcissism, nihilism, and moral apathy that threaten to destroy it today.

Old friend just laid off by USDA, 1 mos short of his probationary period as senior researcher. Brilliant person who left a tenured faculty position several yrs ago to join USDA. Bright early-career researchers also being laid off. USDA is terminating a generation of highly-qualified scientists.

I'm in. February 28, 2025!

We are nearing a precipice.

Americans don't do history. That's why we don't need a Department of Education anymore. Knowing facts is boring. Watching TikTok videos is more fun.

Musk is working on replacing contract workers in the Department of Education with AI chatbots, aiming to use generative AI to handle student and parent inquiries.

I run into so many people who willfully avoid thinking about or following what's happening with anything remotely political. It's become so controversial and divisive that they just want to ingnore it all, prtending it won't affect them by doing so. I'll never understand that "reasoning"

Just gonna leave this here. For those who want to contribute. “Some of those who are CEOs of insurance companies are the same who murder innocents.” — Something something less eloquent than Rage Against The Machine because I’m tired.

“Gaza is not for sale”. Hundreds of protesters have marched in cities across Morocco, rejecting Trump’s proposal to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza and build beach resorts there. 🔴 LIVE Updates ⤵️

Can America have a real fucking leader who cares about human rights and shit that really matters? Can we please have a President like Zelensky? I mean, we’re salivating for some real leadership over here.

My friend makes these badass playlists and is a phenomenal radio host. Check out her work and follow her. ❤️ I like to read while listening at night. Always grateful for The Jackalope Hour and The Darque Party. @sejdb.bsky.social

I would love to see this pass, but it won’t. Not now with so many MAGAZIS and those who remain silently complacent in office. “ “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men should do nothing.” We’ve done nothing and our actions now come too late. But still we must try.

Can we please avoid WW3?

This is the most horrible matcha latte blend I’ve tried. There is nothing about it that tastes like matcha, lavender, or honey. It has the flavor of a lightly sweetened cardboard box. I want someone to buy it to confirm how horrible it is, except I like supporting companies with good products.

After going quiet on bird flu, CDC scientists have published a report on its spread among veterinarians. The findings suggest a need for better surveillance.

How the USA has been feeling since the Orange Coprolite’s first presidential term. America is living out the background timeline of Cabaret. We are now at the end of film where the audience is all composed of MAGAZIS. Respect to Cabaret fans who know the reference.

Have you been reading your Bell Hooks today? 🧐 If you have no idea who I’m talking about, you really should. Especially if you’re a woman. Especially if you’re a man and want to understand and support women better—that goes for yourself, too.

Nikita Gill.

Another by Marge Piercy. She’s definitely a personal favorite. Especially her first volume of poems, The Moon Is Always Female. ❤️

Valentines Day is around the corner and I’ve been thinking for the last year how much I wish to meet someone with whom I can build things. Someone good at making visions materialize, and feels called to serve social justice in the same way I always have through my art. Would be nice if he exists.

“If you want to know how crazy the idea is, though, you have to look no further than Susie Wiles’s face as he said it,” Fox News host Jessica Tarlov said, referring to a photograph of Trump’s White House chief of staff.

Remember, Audre Lorde said it. So it’s truer than true.

Protesting is great to remind us of solidarity, but all of us have to be more diligent at carving out time to call (hound) our elected officials frequently to demand impeachment and resistance to Trump and his cabinet’s agenda. Make a nuisance of yourself, call and do your best to participate. I

From Reddit.

Watching Bernie Badass Sanders (who should have been President, imo) effortlessly tear open RFK on his stance on vaccines, abortion, and universal healthcare as a human right for his confirmation hearing was an absolute delight. Keep up the good democracy @sanders.senate.gov

I have never seen anyone flip as quickly as Robert F. Kennedy did on the question of whether a woman has the right to control her own body.
