Autotheist, Pop-Culture Pagan, POC. A hop, skip, and a jump away from turning 30. I'm a writer who tried to make my stories PC but somehow ended up down Dead Dove avenue and that's okay. I'm anti-censorship, btw.

Parents, have you talked to your kids about the dangers of the old forest? The seductive lure of a mossy nook or sun dappled meadow? The siren song of forgotten tombs, talking owls, and ancient witches cackling in the moonlight?

Manifestation is one hell of a drug.

New challenge: follow the people that make posts and repost things that you really enjoy seeing. Don't follow people just because you feel like you "have to". Quality over quantity.

Also I'm thinking my prefrontal cortex is almost done developing bc why are my thoughts so clear now??? Like, I feel rational? It's been 28 messed up years but we did it folks

The funny thing about reading as much fanfiction as I have (since I was 9, I think) is that it's started to become oversaturated for me. I craved something new, so I actually started reading a new book for the first time in years.

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

Okay here’s my new theory about infodumping: the earlier in the book we are, the less well it works and the shorter the tidbits have to be. Once we’re a bit more invested in the story, we want the backstory more and will absorb it better. By then we can take a couple paragraphs at a time.

Please support bookshops. Independent bookshops. They are so wonderful. Yes you pay a little more. But I think of it as paying for the experience. The experience of browsing. And that oh-so-important bookshop smell. 🖖 Fu** big corporations.

just write and draw the stuff that makes you happy. the stuff that gives you that obsessed feeling. indulge yourself, bro. I mean it. go OFF. use those favourite and familiar tropes, archetypes, designs, who cares? if it gets you creating, that's all that matters, because that's a special thing

Drawing and writing are quite similar, actually. Your ideas and planning stage is like the base sketch. Your first draft is the lineart. Fixing the plotholes, inconsistencies, spelling and grammar are the colors. Your second draft adds shading and highlights, and beta readers add the background.

Not the kids yelling "oh-oh-oh-ohiiiiiiio! Rizzler parts." 😳 #rizz #kidsthesedays #help #oreillyautoparts

Libraries are precious and beautiful and must be defended

Perspectives: This is how we see a tree, as opposed to how a bird sees a tree.
