#ProudBlue PLEASE! If you are reading this, make the call!!!!

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

SCOOP: HHS has been gutted leaving critical health systems in danger of collapsing overnight. And no one's in charge: “Those in charge are AWOL. I’m doing nothing productive. This ship has no captain whatsoever, and I’m playing in the band while the Titanic sinks.” www.wired.com/story/depart...

👇 This Is What a Digital Coup Looks Like 👇 @carolecadwalla.bsky.social with a powerful talk on broligarchy & authoritarianism. Can't even pick a quote, because every other sentence is worth a quotation.

““Many people don’t realize how high the American quality of life is because...of regulations. This affects airplane safety, baby formula safety, the safety of meat, vegetables and packaged foods, the water that you drink, how you get to work safely and whether you’re safe in your workplace.”

Notice the difference in coverage? The @wsj.com accurately reports what the El Salvador president said. That’s a fact. The @nytimes.com, on the other hands, normalizes what the fElon “won’t” do. Not a fact. It remains to be seen in the coming constitutional crisis. The NYT fails again.

A man that can happily terrorize young children is not a man at all. These poor kids have been living a difficult life, and the idea that we, as a nation, can stand by & watch as this admin psychologically tortures them is abhorrent. They’re kids, FFS. We should be helping them. #ProudBlue

The top 1% evade $163 billion in taxes per year — enough to end homelessness, hunger, and pay for universal childcare. 👆🏻 This is the crime wave we should be talking more about.

Keep going Carole!!

And, for my baseball followers, all those corporate tickets that drive up prices in the ballparks by creating artificial demand are subsidized with your tax dollars as write offs for business entertainment expenses.

Tax Day reminder that CEOs can write off their private jets and yachts as business expenses on their taxes, but you can’t write off the car you use to drive to work at their companies. This is what tax laws designed to benefit billionaires and corporations look like.

Career officials at the Internal Revenue Service were pressed by Trump officials and DOGE staffers to hand over access to sensitive taxpayer data to immigration agencies, but repeatedly refused, telling their new overseers that doing so would be illegal. Trump and Musk barreled ahead anyway.

Martha Stewart would like a word. #LockHerUp

Just to build on this, one of the reasons the death camps were built in the occupied territories was because the Nazi command knew they were illegal under German law and the nominally-still-extant Weimar constitution

What do these corporations have in common? Netflix Ford Tesla T-Mobile Duke Energy DISH Network Metlife Dominion Energy United States Steel In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes. This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

1/The Trump admin has made it clear: they will have to be forced to comply with the law. They won’t do it voluntarily. It’s that simple & that complicated. Worst of all, it’s completely unsurprising we’ve come to this juncture. This was in the cards all along joycevance.substack.com/p/the-suprem...

Yup. They saw such things as proof of tyranny. Because they are.

There's a reason everyone more or less takes only home-cooked, packed lunch to work in India

Gotta stop calling these random kidnappings of private citizens "deportations" and call them what they really are: renditions.

If you do not care that Kilmar Abrego Garcia was disappeared into a foreign torture camp in violation of his most basic human rights or those given him by the U.S. Constitution. Then don’t expect anyone to care when that black bag goes over your head, or the heads of your children.

Trump said: “The homegrowns are next.” That’s not just a phrase. It’s a warning. This is what state-sponsored disappearance looks like.

I cannot with all this GRIFTING!

This is what judges should be doing right now. If the Trump administration is going to insist that it can’t bring back anyone once they’re removed, then federal judges should put the brakes on any and all removals until the *full* legal process—to ensure the removals are valid—has run its course.

Either the U.S. government *is* able to exert monetary and diplomatic pressure on El Salvador sufficient to produce Abrego Garcia’s release, or it isn’t. The latter would be either a bald-faced lie or a pretty stunning concession of our national impotence. The Vice President should pick one.

On this day, April 14, 2025, the President of the United States openly defied the Supreme Court’s unanimous opinion of April 10, 2025, ordering him to “facilitate Abrego Garcia’s release from custody in El Salvador

Oh dear you’re going to want to read this. Looks like DOGErs were caught exfiltrating NLRB data, likely on unions, for private (seemingly Elony) use. This is must read. What we’ve all suspected. But now details. www.npr.org/2025/04/15/n...

Officials investigating the 8 agencies found unjustified killings, excessive force, debtors’ prisons, retaliation against police critics, racial discrimination, unlawful strip searches and undercover officers having sexual contact with sex workers. By @tophersanders.bsky.social

Was talking with a friend about the wide-eyed sense of wonder that characterizes US media coverage of Trump's power grab. And I think a lot of the complacency comes from a self-satisfied belief in the US that its constitutional system had somehow "solved" the ineradicable challenges of government.

The fact that the government is using charges of antisemitism to justify sending people to concentration camps is the most enraging manipulation of discourse that the current fascists have engaged in thus far. They’ll live out their Nazi fantasies all while claiming they are doing it for the Jews.

Holy shit. This is the funniest political ad I’ve ever seen. The Republican House Caucus wants it taken down. You know what to do.

Re-posting this for no particular reason... www.planetcritical.com/p/cyber-secu...

"Those people... those millions of people... I never knew it would come to that. You must believe it." "Herr Janning, it came to that the first time you sentenced a man to death you knew to be innocent."

To be clear - we shouldn't send anyone to slave labor murder camps, on foreign or domestic soil. ...but here they are casually talking about sending US citizens to slave labor murder camps on foreign soil. This is everything the constitution is supposed to protect us from. This is tyranny.

THREAD: The Trump administration's DOJ has removed a study from the NIJ website that found that immigrants, and particularly undocumented immigrants, commit crimes at significantly lower rates than U.S. citizens. The study is at odds with the Trump regime's propaganda about immigrants & crime. (1)

China really upping their trolling game since the tariffs.

NEW from PP: The Trump admin is blowing off Congress's Qs about ICE wrongly detaining Americans. More than a dozen lawmakers demanded answers. The admin has offered silence. “That’s not usual." said @normornstein.bsky.social. "Nothing about this is usual." www.propublica.org/article/trum...
