Hmmmm “Are we sleep walking into autocracy?” The question seems to be back on the table, after some weeks of ‘waking up’. All the apt responses to this involve “escalation”. And risk. And so far, wet haven’t seen any willingness for that, apart from mass protest. So the question comes up anew.

@rbreich.bsky.social I feel like people don't grok just how much $175B in the Senate border bill rn really amounts to. Raising the minimum wage to $15/hr was once estimated to cost $54B over ten years!, maybe, but lift over half a million out of poverty. For $175 BILLION...why not $30/hr?
