social media needs to be regulated and treated very much like we currently treat drugs. that's long term. in the immediate term? focus on the 75% of men who aren't voting for fascists. you will have more luck reaching and organizing them than deradicalizing Andrew Tate fans.

Was thinking today on my walk about how what we need are socially acceptable ways for boys and young men to find belonging and acceptance that are nonviolent, pro-social and affirm their masculinity. I feel like the frameworks are there, at least in potentiality.

if you are the kind of guy who thinks a lot of big thoughts about how you would TOTALLY punch a Nazi if you ever got the chance, I have great (meaning, terrible) news for you about how many public places you can go now where that’s a genuinely useful attitude to have

So this morning I arrived early to choir practice before mass, promptly had a panic attack and sobbed in the folding chairs while trying to pray (main sanctuary is still being remediated for smoke damage). Collected myself in the restroom, and joined the choir 1/

No. I am an awkward ball of anxious wallflower in real life.

Stirring the pot a little on Facebook with an open invitation to think about and discuss this list with my fellow white friends and family…but really I do want to investigate this and ask questions of myself and the people who feel the need to respond to it on my socials

A federal judge blocked Trump's sweeping executive order ending government support for DEI programs

Ok who has a Finch I need friends

Oh yes, Homer’s famous “Tes Thdpssssps.” 👍🏻

Pfffft. It’s not a Jacobin terror until someone busts out a guillotine, Brandon.

I’m on the latest episode now and I have all the questions.

Yesterday’s bread didn’t rise as well as I wanted, so we took a bit more starter from Breadric Streona and trying again today.

Let me tell you…as a person making $11/hour on a 36 week/year job and spending $700/month on rent on a studio apartment in Santa Cruz California…”Too big to fail” sounded like a grim joke. LET THEM FAIL OMG

Do I have Civ7? Yes. And I’m still exploring it and getting used to it. But tonight is for playing Civ6 as Alexander the Great and just…y’know. Not evacuating him to space.

This show (Severance) feels very relevant right now. I’m still in season 1, but it seems relevant, right?

If you work in any aspect of disability at HHS and are already seeing new changes or guidances as RFK Jr. takes over or DOGE comes in, please message me on Signal.

It's worth noting that there's a concept called the transition cliff, where disabled kids are most vulnerable at age 22 when their public school education ends. There is already a lack of services, and this will, of course, make it worse.

Just started Severance. I hear it’s good, but I am so worried for those Lumon workers

Frequent reminder that the Vance creep’s in-laws are professors.

This is a program for teenagers with serious disabilities who are finishing high school and transitioning to their next steps in life. Trump just axed it, effective immediately, in the middle of the night, with no notice.

Ok yesterday was Not Good. I have a head cold, so I spent too much time scrolling. Today…got a loaf of bread started and rising, live streamed mass, and about to just I dunno. Knit the day away until it’s time to make dinner. Ugh that sounds very trad wife, but I swear I’m just twee instead.

So a fun thing was seeing an article on the OCR getting blocked from its investigations…and going “oh! I posted about this in 2017!” and finding what I posted in order to re-share and discovering I’d memory-holed some more disgusting stuff.

Oh nothing just rage-knat a dishcloth.
