Holy heck don't book with United. Absolute refusal to refund a ticket that clearly said, "This ticket is eligible for a refund due to a schedule change." I avoided them before but now I'm so done with them.

I've seen this before. This is the Myth of Narcissus; Turkey in Rut Version

If I ever start a company, I'll hire for curiosity. Learning new things, new situations, tough scenarios, misunderstandings... all of that is more quickly solved with a healthy dose of curiosity. Without it, you hit walls and waste all kinds of time and I do NOT like wasting time.

I walked through a cemetery today on the way to somewhere else and there was a gravestone that said "Mort" and I was like, true. Imagine your last name meaning 'dead' in another language. I only wish I could troll people beyond my death like that.

On this day in 1800, I approved $5,000 to found the Library of Congress. One of my wiser investments. If you’ve $5,000 to spare, I suggest the same. A room of Books costs less than a horse and travels further. Or at least gives you something to throw when Tyranny knocks. www.loc.gov/item/today-i...

My daughter sent me this. Ah! Birds! --> @marynh.bsky.social‬, you will 💛

My bird bath camera is back up for the year! American Robin ASMR, sound on.

There's this Scarlet Tanager in the back forest that I've heard for 3 years and yet I've never actually seen it, so at this point I think its a psyop.

I told my 17 year old that when I'm really old I want: 1. A humanoid robot to help me around the house 2. A mech suit that my humanoid robot can help me into so I can be that weird 96 year old grandma that runs through the forest in a mech suit because why not

Every spring I watch this map closely to make sure when the hummingbirds get here I am READY with snacks. www.hummingbirdcentral.com/hummingbird-...

True story. Although I've never heard of that happening up here before. He was looking for slag; a nifty blue/green glassy by-product of the old, former iron-smelting of past days in northern MI.

18/10 for Ripley trying to make a good choice.

We are finishing the last batch of syrup for the year; spring has come, the leaves are coming out, the sap is getting cloudy and sparse. I have put in several vanilla beans in to this batch, we are finishing strong and bougie in this forest with a batch of vanilla bean maple syrup. #strongandbougie

When the states begin to not comply, this is a signal.

Time-traveling bird. Loved the 80's.

HOW did this cloud get into the airplane.

This is what straight up maple sap looks like. It's *almost* all water, but has 2% sugar and a smattering of other minerals. We're running out of firewood so I decided to bring in a couple of gallons to start boiling inside.
