Somebody at work opened a package meant for me, decided it was sent in error, initiated a return and packaged it up without ever asking who it belonged to. I just happened to see the return address and realize it was my stuff.

The persistent tension headache from December has returned. I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow to try to nip it in the bud.

I had my echocardiogram this morning and nothing looked bad enough to have the tech go fetch a doctor, so now I just wait for the results. Probably tomorrow.

I worked on the new teen room policy but kept running into a wall because no one will tell me if the “media lab” and maker space are all ages or not. It’s ludicrous to build a teen space and then let adults wander around in it.

My volunteer today is being a pokey little puppy but I'm gonna let him be. Who knows what these kids are going through.

There is nothing more annoying than the sound of the not-quite-running footsteps of a kid who has been told not to run but who really wants to run in the library.

Technically I have de Quervain tenosynovitis, so, you know, my thumb’s pretty cool.

It is actively detrimental to me doing my job that Google cannot tell the difference between "middle school" and "middle grade."

My proposal was accepted so I'll be presenting at the statewide library conference this spring!

It’s a good thing I really like this pattern and this yarn because between the fact that I can only crochet for about 15 minutes a day right now and the fact that I keep making the same damn mistake it’s going to take me 6 months to finish this shawl.

A little ray of sunshine: we booked our hotel at Universal in November. Very excited for Epic Universe!

The other altos told me on Sunday that they didn’t know our part so they were just going to mouth the words while I sang. Uhh, what are we even doing here?

I haven’t watched Severance so here I am thinking folks on here were ascribing increasingly unlikely characteristics to their belly buttons.

When that one library mom says "we're leaving" but they never do...

The irony is not lost on me that the local youth services listserv has impossible to search archives. Are we not LIBRARIANS?

I momentarily thought I had Covid because I could not smell any of the new Disney princess candles at B&BW. Turns out they just suck because I could smell everything else just fine.

I feel like reacting to everything with the angry snarls of an injured possum so I have taken to my bed

Not sure what my husband was searching for but he found this:

Now see, if Mark Cuban wants to be helpful he can stop nattering about AI and buy Joann.

Did I buy this ridiculous shirt today? Oh yes.

2 of my kids are having big birthdays next week (the kind that make me feel old and creaky) so we are having everyone over for a taco party!

So now this week I have seen JD Vance’s shin and now McConnell’s toes. Eww.

For the first time in years I did not have to take any insulin yesterday. Not a drop. Not a smidge. So grateful for my new meds, despite the occasional GI adventures I go on.

The new teen room at the library as envisioned by my boss, probably.

Mouse update: I can reset the button to do a number of things, including opening Chat GPT, but I can not disable it all together. Time to go in the closet to find a dumb mouse.

I am a rule follower because I am autistic. My horrible coworker is a rule-follower because she is a bitch. We are not the same.

Because I am wearing a brace on my right hand I have to hold my mouse sort of awkwardly and I keep accidently bumping a button on the side that closes whatever I was working on. Why do we even have that button?

I dreamt last night that I was cooking bbq ribs in my instant pot and serving them to Luigi Mangione. They weren't the best but he was very polite about it.

What, exactly, makes grown ass adults think that the whole library wants to listen to their Zoom call?

Milo has been following me around all morning, yelling. I kept inviting him to sit with me but he wasn’t interested. Now that I only have 10 minutes til I have to leave for work he’s asleep on my lap.
