Official advice from Aus Government is for women to book long GP appointments to discuss peri- & menopause or endo but it’s only promising to further subsidise short GP visits. Women’s health is complex. Any campaign reporters asking about gender-biased promises?

Anything but the most expansive definition of 'woman' hurts all women. A narrow definition means the boundaries now have to be defended. Cue vigilante 'border guards' popping up in every public loo, changing room, gym... Tall women, women with deep voices, athletic builds etc will be challenged.

A Russian operation is one of the most successful so far in getting lies repeated by popular AI chatbots. Gift link to my story today. wapo.st/44vhnR3

Chat, what do we do when we turn up to a wedding knowing absolutely no one?

My favourite thing about the new gaff is having regular visits from three crows. They strut across the balcony, tap on the window for treats, yell and flash their white eyes. When I go out to the balcony, they watch me from the roofline. I want to be their best friend.

one big change in tech/internet reporting: it's never been harder to know what is happening on the big social media platforms. Meta got rid of CrowdTangle which helped tracking Facebook/IG accounts, X (aka Twitter) shut off its free API access, TikTok is completely opaque.

Shout out to the small protest walking down my street today where union folk played the trumpet and riffed on The Specials with their new protest song ‘Message to you, Albo’.

Thrilled to be nominated for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award in the following categories. These traditionally skew extremely male so your vote would be hugely appreciated if you have a moment! Straight up ecstatic when I see someone out in the world smoking actual cigarettes.

My cute quiet hobby is watching what films use Ikea products. Hallucinogenic drugs in the same Ikea glasses I use? Tired. Viruses that can stop zombies stored in Ikea tins? Wired.

Oh goody! Six cyclones spin around the Southern Hemisphere simultaneously in rare meteorological event: One of the cyclones - Alfred - is set to hit Australia in the coming days. The last time the Pacific Ocean had six named storms at once was 1974

So, do you ever sit up at night thinking perhaps the fae invented AI so they could trap more humans into ill-advised deals?

I love all of this. The severed human hand, it happening in Ireland, its augury but most of all that it was initially reported by Pop Crave.

Mask of Pan discovered in 2015 near a Roman gate at Hippos-Sussita on the Sea of Galilee. Excavation on the site has revealed a pagan sanctuary.

Being a thoroughly lapsed Catholic is weird: on the one hand, you ignore all sacraments or rules. On the other, you wake up almost hourly to check that Pope Francis hasn’t died.

This is super cool and in no way an augur or omen or even a prophecy foretold by Pythia while munted on nangs www.abc.net.au/news/2025-02...

Feel like you know nothing about Sudan? I sat down with the team at Prospect Magazine to talk about the conflict, and why it’s NOT a forgotten war, but an invisibilised one: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/podcasts/pro...
