I didn't even frequent the Pálás and just saw a post about its last screening yesterday that's made me quite emotional! Bring it back!

Green scarves have just arrived đź’šđź’šđź’š I'll be posting all orders on Tuesday if anyone would like one in time for Paddy's Day! amylouishop.etsy.com

Ever wonder who’s pulling the strings behind the madness that is Animation Dingle? Today's blog gives an insight into the crazy masterminds behind Ireland's most exciting animation festival! Read more here: animationdingle.com/behind-the-s... #AnimationDingle #MeetTheTeam #BehindTheScenes

I've been complaining too much about District lately and I fear at this stage I simply must do something about it

Cartoon Saloon are back to present a behind-the-scenes on a brand-new short film, Éiru. Developed as a co-production with Herstory. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with Giovanna and producer Nora Twomey. This event is supported by Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet

just wondering is there any "District"-esque media sites that cover the whole of Ireland? Just saw an article that claims "Ireland's Independent Cinema Culture is Thriving" and want to bang my head against the wall because it is yet again, solely focused on Dublin's cinemas (and mainly just LH)

another little bump! scarves are in production and should hopefully be ready by March

Putting on the film festival hat - KIFF submissions are now OPEN!🎉 We have a particular affinity for shorts, feature directorial debuts and supporting early career filmmakers (though we love to see everything really!). For the first time, we're also accepting music videos! bit.ly/KIFFsubmissions

Lá Fhéile Bríde Shona Daoibh!!

Writing stuff for children is so funny because I'll be working in a cafe and looking (presumably) *very* cool and mysterious when in actuality I'm trying to brainstorm riddles about leaves

Thinking more on this and obviously the ideal scenario is to not use Duolingo at all - but it’s unfortunately the right amount of gamification/appealing layout/user friendliness that keeps me in it. In comparison to the often suggested alternatives like building an anki deck, etc

Back on duolingo to stop doom scrolling, I’ve restarted the Irish course from the very, very start and it really makes me wish that you could select regional variants. It really would throw you off when pronunciations of the few words you know are still completely different from what you’ve learned

Having dark thoughts about starting a substack

People not liking the Nosferatu remake is honestly such a “girls that get it, get it moment” like not to be annoying but you get soooo much more from it if you’ve an awareness and interest in the original. 9/10 times if someone doesn’t like it, it’s because they didn’t realise what came before.

Anybody else struggle with ending stories? I’ve plenty of ideas but actually managing to see a story through to the end is something I really struggle with. If anyone has some resources for developing story endings I’m all ears!

A little morning boost!

Been trying to cut down my screentime by deleting most of my social media apps, tiktok, etc. Not sure how this little burst of mental illness occurred.

This this this!! I’ve watched an awful lot of short films this year and it’s becoming increasingly evident that young artists aren’t filling their brains with wider frames of reference. You need to absorb everything! Not just the one singular piece of media that’s your favorite

If you didnt get a chance to see it in Cinemas, An An CailĂn CiĂşin / The Quiet Girl has its tv premiere tonight on TG4 at 8.
