Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde demonstrated incredible bravery in addressing the President directly from the pulpit yesterday. I would say that her pleas fell on deaf ears, but honestly and unfortunately I am not sure the President understood the words coming out of her mouth.

I followed the FLOTUS and POTUS accounts years ago, and Instagram just decided to roll me over into following the Trump and Melania ones, rather than archiving the former POTUS and FLOTUS accounts like Meta does elsewhere. I had to manually unfollow. The ick factor is high here.

Last normal night for who knows how long. Sorry to see it go. Good luck tomorrow everyone. May the odds be ever in our favor.

Really looking forward to detaching from Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. They were fun, but I think the community over here on Bluesky has a lot of potential!

I was excited to say goodbye to 2024 yesterday. Today, I was saddened to hear about the attack on New Orleans just hours into the New Year. I can’t help but think that attacks like this are meant to kill our hope, and I refuse to give in to the terror and hatred the perpetrator hoped to inspire.

Wishing everyone health, happiness, and prosperity in the New Year. See you in 2025!

Here on Bluesky I am just trying to follow cheerful folks, with a touch of news and sass thrown in to keep me up-to-date and to make life interesting. I think we all could use a little less gloom and doom and a few more cute animal photos right about now.

Everytime I think I am done with holiday shopping, I remember someone I forgot and frantically try to think of something that seems thoughtful and not a last-minute afterthought that will arrive in two days or less. Crisis shopping is real y’all.

Today I’ll be trying to string Christmas lights and hang ornaments while a feisty four-year-old tries to do the exact opposite. Wish me luck!

Today we: 1) Went to find a Christmas tree. 2) Found THE tree. 3) Cut the tree. 4) Got the tree home. 5) Got the tree IN the house. 6) Broke the tree stand. 7) Went to buy a new stand. 8) Got the stand home. 9) Got the tree up! It may be leaning by tomorrow, but for tonight it’s a success!
