Your design will be tested by users - your only choice is whether to run the test yourself before launch - @jominney.bsky.social #NDCOslo

@jominney.bsky.social got into web development because building websites is WAY more fun than rocks 🤣 @ndcconferences.com #NDCOslo

Lemon is recommending some cool CSS only demos on @codepen.io and I see @mandymichael.bsky.social and her Text Effects demos 🤩

While some front end developers might consider themselves artists, we're really just putting boxes in boxes - Lemon #NDCOslo

Last day of @ndcconferences.com #NDCOslo this week and Lemon is talking about all the amazing things we have now in CSS 🥳

@philna.sh is discovering why you shouldn't work with children, animals or generative AIs 🤣 @ndcconferences.com

Actually making it to a talk for a change, seeing if @philna.sh can make my life easier teaching us how to build an AI agent at @ndcconferences.com

Watching @damianm.com get physically restrained in the audience to stop him from interrupting someone who said something wrong about agile at #DDDAdelaide 🤣

@larsklint.bsky.social is talking feature release techniques and tools at #DDDAdelaide and apparently no one understands @jakeginnivan.bsky.social's architecture The audience has collectively agrees that Jake probably does at least 🤣

Really enjoying @larene.dev's keynote on # accessibility at #DDDAdelaide this morning! So many excellent points and stories, it really is an important topic we need to keep in mind with everything we build

“We, the designers and builders of the web, decide who is welcome”. - @larene.dev #DDDAdelaide

Because #DDDPerth wasn't enough last weekend, we're off on a quick trip to Adelaide for #DDDAdelaide tomorrow and our last trip for the year!

Feels nice but a little strange to be at #DDDPerth today! But really great to be here for the 10th anniversary of the amazing conference that so many people have built over the past decade

Hey peeps, WiTWA's (Women in Tech WA) People's Choice Awards closes for voting tomorrow, you can vote for up to 5 people so if you haven't voted yet you've still got time to let some of the amazing women who've been nominated know how amazing they are! witwaawards.awardstage.com#!/peoples-ch...

Had a few people very concerned about my charging cable last week, but the cable of death has now officially been replaced with some shiny new braided cables In my defence, the cable functioned perfectly fine, there are no exposed wires and there were never even any sparks from it

Setting the bar for the rest of us at #CPHDevfest, @damovisa.me has coordinated his slides and outfit with the venue lighting

Because multiple long hauls aren't enough fun, this time my back is already screwed up from the travel last weekend, yay 😬 REALLY looking forward to a real bed again in ~24-30 hours

Winter in QLD really is something else. This morning when we landed in Brisbane it was 6 degrees. It's currently 30 🤣

Getting back in the blog habit - here's one about the custom link shortener I use, now including auto-generated QR codes and how it all works (or just the link to my GitHub repo so you can clone the whole thing and use it yourself) blog.amyskapers.dev/building-a-c...

Do I know anyone who's done any work with setting up a GraphQL API using Azure Static Web Apps (using the Azure Functions side) with the functions v4? All the stuff I can find is for V3 and want to know if it's actually doable

@aaron-powell.com says he didn't know where Denmark was before he went there, clearly he didn't know it was in Western Australia 🤦‍♀️

Decided not to heckle @aaron-powell.com because he's talking about burnout at #DDDMelbourne which is important Then he heckled me, so apparently all bets are off!

So far this trip I have almost left my laptop at home and on the plane. If anyone sees me without it, please check if I know where it is? 🤦‍♀️

So I've had a few people mention to me that Bluesky doesn't have hashtags, but I use them anyway. This is why. They all work now 😁

Feels weird heading off on a short trip (and for just the weekend) but nice to know I'll be home soon. For now though, here I come #DDDMelbourne! Flight 1/2 ✈️ PER -> MEL

Have a new unexpected use for chatgpt. I've had this story stuck in my head, from a book I'd read, I could remember strange bits and pieces but not what it was So I described it to to the bot, told it not to make up a book if it didn't know, and it managed to pick it up from 3-4 random sentences 🥳

Took a little longer than planned but the blog post to accompany my talk at #DDDBrisbane last December is now live! Wondering why accessibility is so important, why is it *my* problem and who benefits? Well I've got the answers for you! blog.amyskapers.dev/accessibilit...

Inspired by conference knitters such as @webgoddess.bsky.social and @eliholderness.bsky.social, I brought my own portable thread based crafts for this conference!

Speech to text, SMS, automatic doors and audiobooks were all invented for people with impairments/disabilities. They're now used by everyone - @jessbudd.bsky.social Accessibility benefits everyone

Last day at #NDCSydney & another of the Perth crew are on stage, @jessbudd.bsky.social is talking accessibility, in particular with respect to single page applications (SPAs) & why JS isn't necessarily the problem

After a week off, back at another conference and this time @mandymichael.bsky.social is teaching HTML for good developers and quoting *Internationally renowned accessibility expert* @stringyland.bsky.social 🤩

Love “Thoughtful opinions, calmly suggested” as an alternative to “Strong opinions, loosely held”. Great keynote by davidwhitney.bsky.social kicking off #ndcSydney ❤️

Awesome talk on advanced html for performance and accessibility from @mandymichael.bsky.social 🙌 #ndcSydney
