I’m forcing the Senate to vote on an amendment to reverse Trump’s layoffs of thousands of critical wildland firefighters. My colleagues claim to support our first responders. Time for them to prove it.

The Senate just voted on a simple idea: If you make $1 BILLION in a year, you don't deserve a tax handout. Democrats voted yes. Republicans voted no. Republicans are planning huge tax cuts for the rich, but they’re not the ones who need a break — working people do.

A new government tracker claims DOGE has saved billions from ending federal contracts. But an NPR analysis of the data finds the claimed savings don't add up.

Republicans will soon bring forward a “reconciliation” bill, that encapsulates the value system of greed and their obedience to oligarchy. It is the economic essence of Trumpism. It will make the rich richer & the poor poorer. It must be defeated. And we can defeat it.

Donald Trump fired the people who make sure you and your parents get the health care you need. The people who make sure medical devices are safe for you to use. The people who approve the lifesaving drugs you rely on. How does this help working people?

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

Europe can’t rely on the strength of the transatlantic relationship to help contain Russia’s threat – it must lead from the front and be the true force of support that Ukraine needs. Not just for Ukraine’s sake, but for a free and sovereign Europe.

Concerns over Musk’s conflicts of interests grow as he undermines fed. regulators. DOGE has gutted “every aspect of accountability outside of the fed. court system,” says Eric Lipton. Current ethics laws are too “antiquated” to address Musk’s vast entanglements says @kirstengrind.bsky.social #Velshi

European friends: Do not accept lectures on democracy & freedom of speech from an Administration that denies the 2020 election results and is now suing & intimidating news outlets whose reporting they don’t like. Stand tall against right-wing extremism. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/15/w...

Maybe Mitch McConnell can switch parties? It would help make up for some of his many sins. I wonder how it feels to know he bears responsibility for all this?

Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s idea of efficiency is stopping research on curing cancer.

I wish there were far fewer pictures of trump and musk on the news and more pictures of the people their cruelty, greed and carelessness are affecting.

The top health care companies in America spent 95% of their profits to make their CEOs & stockholders obscenely rich. How many Americans would be alive today if those companies spent $2.6 trillion on disease prevention and primary care, instead of stock buybacks and dividends?

Do you remember when they tried to get rid of ObamaCare? People organized and deluged their representatives. It became personal and it was effective. We need the same energy and actions now. What is going on is considerably worse.

There’s a joke going around Denmark that the Danes are offering the buy California to make it great again. They would bring it Hygge and bike lanes

Republicans in Congress want Americans struggling to afford student loan payments to shell out nearly $200 more each month to fund tax cuts for billionaires.

It’s no secret that Chair Powell and I disagree on a lot, but today we agreed: without the CFPB, there is no federal regulator making sure giants banks don't cheat you.
