Canadians need to think hard about what solidarity means in the context of the upcoming trade war. Yes, definitely buying Canadian as much as possible. But also donating. No matter how much we buy Canadian, people are going to lose jobs. Of course they'll have EI, but that's not always enough.

I remain optimistic that the trade war can be reasonably short, but I'm no longer optimistic it can be avoided entirely. There's just a complete and total lack of good faith from the American side.
