God gave us creativity. Liberalism is good at some things, bad at others, but at the end of the day it is but one system among a countless many. To think its the be-all-end-all of the human experience is a grand personal failure of the imagination.

I hereby declare the times of 9 PM-8 AM on Bluesky "Bad Brain Hours"- the time when everybody's cognitive function takes a shit and they start dooming like mad. I strongly recommend people find other things to do with their lives during these hours, preferably sleeping.

Today's tip: It's not enough to own the books, you have to actually read them! Except for reference books, of course, which are consulted when needed. #witchsky #witchtips #pagansky

One of the arguments for nation-states is that large groups of people need to be organized. But I think this may be a horseshoe effect. American voters arent a monolith, but the American machine is. Can democracy survive a continent-spanning empire with so many large, diverse interest groups?

Yes, time to break up with the state: youtu.be/AjjP2KdevUM

All kinds of specialized functions can be carried out by standing admin bodies representing federated direct democracies, that don't require exercising legislative police power over a given territory. The liberal "sounds like a govt" response to all discussions of large-scale organization is BS.

While it's true that a lot of people voted MAGA with a "I'll get mine, they'll get what's coming" attitude, it's also true that a lot of people have this worldview because they're the victim of meticulously implanted false beliefs by a comprehensive campaign to discredit fact & empathy as weakness.

Every "Thou Shalt" was once an "I Will".

Hypernormalization is the "bad vibe" going around these days. Adopting a new, modern religious mindset is one of the cures, for individuals, and society. The other cures are pretty darn rough. Russell Brand edited out for efficiency in this version. xd

It really fucking sucks to desire an enchanted world. We're spiritually smothered by both organized religion and smug anti-theists.

In our world, we despise gentle scholars, weird artists, the slow and needy old, the noise of children. What place is there for wildflowers when we cannot commodify the field or kill our enemies with them? Beauty, compassion, generosity, wisdom, reason. These are not virtues, here.

A half-formed thought I've been having lately is that in our national politics banal careerism has crowded out a lot of actual ambition.

Are you waiting for things to get worse? Start gambling now.

Historical anarchist theory often makes me think about the importance of neurodiversity. They wanted to build a society in which everyone can be themselves, rather than masking in order to fit in and be 'normal'. source: Berkman, What is Communist Anarchism theanarchistlibrary.org/library/alex...

Revolutionary Nahuatl for 2/8/25. In ahnahuatilehqueh intech macaic ximonahuatilmati. Never obey the laws of the lawless. ———— in = the ahnahuatileh = lawless one -queh = plural intech = for them macaic = may it never be that xi- = imperative monahuatilmati = you obey the law

No one can stop me from achieving self-actualization.

praying for other people goes hard man i totally get now why the most obnoxious christians in the world are all addicted to telling you they’re praying for you

not even highly repressive regimes try to track down every individual protester. you are not trying to leave no signature. that is an unusual signature. you are trying to maximize the mutual entropy of your signature with a person who does not get arrested.

All institutions should be subject to stakeholder governance, both by the people doing the work, and by the communities they serve who are affected by their activities. People developing tech should be integrated into, and responsible to, user communities.
