If you have an hour to spare and want to understand how #TeslaTakedown can materially change the political situation, please listen to this interview. This is a unique opportunity. Elon Musk is vulnerable. Spread the word, and let's take him down!

this is also, and not coincidentally, how antisemitism works and the rhetorical function it serves

One of my favorite things about Bluesky (or at least my little corner of it) is that people are always sharing resources for taking action. So here's a pinned thread collecting those resources, some made by me and some made by others.

Keep the pressure on... www.cnbc.com/2025/02/25/t...

"The prize is open to people who are either currently or formerly incarcerated (in any form of confinement: jail, prison, detention center, electronic monitoring, or other). ... Essays must be unpublished and unique to this contest; they should not be simultaneously submitted to other publications."

Every day, they're testing how far they can take this. If they think they can take it all the way, they absolutely will. But we don't have to let them.

Firing all of the JAGs (Judge Advocates General)—the top lawyers in each service branch—is just as bad as, if not worse than, firing (most of) the Joint Chiefs.

this episode was MEDICINE today ❤️‍🔥

I cannot recommend this episode enough. Probably the two people whose words and insight I have found most helpful talking about mutual care and organizing

It’s actually not common and if you can’t research and write your own copy without relying on generative software gtfo of the industry

Listened this morning and highly recommend on a practical and (for lack of a better word) philosophical level. Movement Memos was already in my feed and now Live Like the World is Dying will be too. Good people doing good work in the world are who I need in my ear most often right now. 🙏

Two of my favorite ppl on what to do right now, thinking about how to do it out loud together. I genuinely cackled with laughter at a few points. Have already taken steps to do the food-prep event they discuss, with a group of folks I'm in community/neighbors with but not really politically...yet

I can't imagine how everyone and their mother isn't already subscribed to Kelly's newsletter. Truly.

“We are going to need cross-movement solidarity, with the understanding that criminalization is the means by which this administration will seek to crush dissent, destroy lives, and obliterate movements.” Solid analysis as usual. Basically: welcome and protect each other, + shut the fuck up.

As I mentioned in this piece, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was who Trump turned to in 2020 when he asked, "Can't you just shoot [the protesters]?"

"Our words, relationships, and work, may be marked for criminalization, regardless of whether we are operating outside the law or not. That has always been true, but it is more true now than it has been at any other point in my lifetime."

My weekly list of must-read articles, some organizing resources, and a reflection on the ascent of Kash Patel. What should we expect from an FBI headed by a Trump acolyte? How can our communities prepare? I have some thoughts, history, and resources to share on the subject.

“Knowing what’s problematic does make the world better, but being mad at everyone who ever did anything imperfectly absolutely makes the world a thousand times worse.” This conversation between @mskellymhayes.bsky.social and @margaret.bsky.social is worth your time: truthout.org/audio/lets-l...

Having a book club, even a virtual one (which can address accessibility and keep ppl safer from things like COVID etc) is a real, tangible thing folks can do. I'm talking about learning, not just being entertained. I'd highly recommend starting with Let This Radicalize You.

I finished this book yesterday and it got my head out of the doomerism space. I needed the reminder. The world needs us in whatever capacity we can manage.

5 star reads of 2024, part 17 If there was ever a year to read this book, it is this year. It is hopeful, radical and practical. #booksky #nonfictionbooksky #diversebooks

Listened on my run this morning & wanted to remember the Dean Spade quote that Kelly shared, so made a quick comrade card.

"Fascists want to be fascist when they’re winning. When they don’t feel like they’re winning, they hide... a fascist does not want a fair fight. Sometimes all we have to do is put up a fair fight." - @margaret.bsky.social (also reminder that @mskellymhayes.bsky.social's newsletter is fantastic)

One of the best conversations I've listened to in a long time. Touches on: -prepping as leftist praxis -a manageable approach to go bag assembly -trans preparedness for This Moment -deescalation as movement building -balancing opsec & bringing in new people

"“In the US, we appeal rulings we disagree with – we don’t ignore court orders or threaten judges with impeachment just because we don’t like the decision. This is a coup, plain and simple,” Arizona’s attorney general, Kris Mayes, said." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I talked with Live Like the World is Dying host @margaret.bsky.social about preparedness, collective survival, and challenging ourselves "to let people be better."

A great conversation! Not to be missed.

‘Free Luigi’ billboard has gone up in lower Manhattan the evening before his next court appearance. Sent in anon.

“Knowing what’s problematic does make the world better, but being mad at everyone who ever did anything imperfectly absolutely makes the world a thousand times worse. We must learn to offer each other grace and engage in good faith and deescalate our conflict as best as we can.”

Love, love, love the #TeslaTakeDown pickets. These are low-barrier to entry direct actions. I hope people are passing out info to passerbys and also sharing info with each other so they can stay connected!

I wonder how Democratic politicians will alert the public. Perhaps through an interpretive dance video with music by Drake posted on MySpace?

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.

One of my faves, my friend & comrade Monica Trinidad has new art that can be freely downloaded. justseeds.org/graphic/be-l...

Figure out what organizing means to you and do it. If you’re not sure how to think about that question, here’s a book to start with, not because it has all the answers but because it will help you think about your answers: www.haymarketbooks.org/books/1922-l...

The Inquirer is covering the protests, even if Vichy NYT won't www.inquirer.com/politics/pen...

I have a #BlackHistoryMonth post coming in my newsletter tomorrow morning. It's about an ongoing research project in which I am engaged. Subscribe if interested. It's free. prisonculture.substack.com

My weekly list of must-read articles, some resources for folks who want to take action, and my thoughts on Elon Musk's "AI-first" approach to gutting and rewiring the US government.

We thought the DS9 two-parter "Past Tense" was eerily prescient of our time, but we're actually living in "Our Man Bashir:" a story so absurd you'd think it must be a simulation becomes life-threateningly real as a eugenicist billionaire plans to destroy the world for all but a few he deems worthy.

Don't do this administration's work for them by coming up with justifying and rationalizing arguments for institutions and organizations to cooperate. This includes the justifications for why the Democratic party has to "find common ground." If you even start to think this, slap yourself.

Saw someone say, "End your friendships with people who are going about life like nothing is wrong." I will never understand people who think that further isolating ourselves from everyday people who don't get it is going to save us. It's not. Your judgment and disdain will not save us.

The Republicans plan to spend $400 million on armored swasticars while government agencies are liquidated and services are gutted. This is a heist.

Sitting w this quote from Lisa Fithian: "Whenever anybody walks into a new space, their limbic system is getting activated. Like, “Am I welcome, am I not?” ...the more we can immediately embrace people and bring them in to help them regulate themselves is essential to bringing people into the fold."

“Find at least one moment of beauty, joy, laughter, and pleasure every day. Because fuck them.”
