Philosophy jobs Copenhagen : : :

Thrilled that an article I have written with Lasse Nielsen and Anna Dorf has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry. It is about priority setting in the Danish Medicines Council. We collected the data in 2021. Science takes time! #Bioethics

New open access article on FirstView: "Folsom Transplant Blues: What is wrong with offering the incarcerated shorter sentences for donating organs and bone marrow?" by @andreasalbertsen.bsky.social and Jens Damgaard Thaysen. #OrganDonation #incarceration www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

Great day in Copenhagen! I attended a workshop at The Centre for Medical Science and Technology Studies (MeST) and gave a talk on egalitarianism and rare diseases. #bioethics

Almost ready for tomorrow's workshop in Copenhagen. I'll give a talk on egalitarianism and rare diseases! #Bioethics

Today, a journal asked me if I could cut the number of references in an article to 40. Luckily, a compromise was reached, so 80 was deemed acceptable. pheew! #bioethics

It was a great day at work! Lydia Tsiakiri presented her work at CEPDISC on discrimination and personal responsibility. #bioethics

My article on the method of analytical political theory (with Lasse Nielsen) has been accepted in the Danish Political Science Journal, Politica. It is an introductory article and part of a SI on Methods in PT. It was fun to write and discuss with the other contributors

'Minor revisions' All is forgiven 🥳

I am as proud as one is allowed to feel about such things that my google scholar citations just passed 500🥳😅

New publication! In the Journal of Law and Medical Ethics, Thaysen and I argue against sentence reduction for prisoners who become living organ donors. Opportunity to donate may be unfairly unequal + the offer conflicts with most conceptions of why we punish. #organdonation #bioethics

There are more than enough bad reviews to go around! So, I wanted to share an uplifting experience. Didde Andersen and I wrote a paper on the permissibility of living vital organ donation. The reviewers helpfully challenged our arguments in the first round. #peerreview #bioethics 1/3

Today will be a good day!

My paper has been one year at a journal. How about a R&R to celebrate the occasion? #fingerscrossed #academicchatter

Lydia Tsiakiri just published the article 'Why a responsibility sensitive healthcare system is not disrespectful' - I am a very proud supervisor! #bioetics rdcu.be/edNaw

On my way to the annual meeting of the Danish Philosophy Society. As always, I am frantically preparing my slides. I will give a talk on 'Responsibility, Justice and Markets'!

Doing proofs for an academic article. It always feels very productive to figure out which city the publisher of some of the books I cited is located in... #detective #research #academicwork

Every day vulnerable and poor people sell a kidney to desperately ill, affluent buyers. Solutions lie in alleviating poverty, reducing the organ shortage & make the business less lucrative for medical professionals and brokers. #bioetics #organtrade #kidneytrade link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Hi academics Did you ever get pushback for introducing too many chances when doing proofs for an article? I think I overdid it a bit with mine. #academicchatter

I've spend most of my day discussing methods in political theory with a bunch of great people. The authors of papers for a special issue of Politica on this topic met up online to comment on the papers. I've written on reflective equilibrium with Lasse Nielsen. Time well spent 😊

I just realized I currently have 10 articles/chapters under review. Part of that is slow turn-around times, but another part is due to a very productive spell in December and January. It's nice to feel that things are ramping up again.

Happy '1 year under review' day to my paper. Great achievement. #peerreview

Immensely proud to see Ida Nørregaard defend her PhD thesis on statistical discrimination. She explores both normative questions about why it is wrong, and conducts some top-notch survey experiments to test why people tend to accept it and how we can decrease acceptance. #discrimination #xphi

Very pleased to see my article on international organ trade and the ethics of regulatory possibilities accepted at the Monash Bioethics Review. #Bioethics

Today, Ida Nørregaard defends her excellent PhD. thesis, 'Accurate, Efficient and Immoral? When Statistics Motivate Discrimination'. As her main supervisor, I am excited and proud 👏 #Discrimination #xphi

Splendid evening. I read Paw Patrol stories to my son until he fell asleep, poured a glass of good whisky, and made progress on a book chapter on opt-out policies and organ donation for a book edited by Neera Bhatia and @japarsons.bsky.social #bioethics

What do we know about opinions about Denmark and the US in Greenland? Some research here 👇
