Inspired by Mission Impossible, from now on whenever someone’s mad at me, my go-to defense is gonna be “This is exactly what The Entity wants! To divide us!”

This week’s Spooky Sunday features a classic Carpenter ghost story and fittingly titled “London Fog” loaf cake! andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/spooky-sun...

Today’s chapter of “American Monsters” features Frankenstein’s Monster testifying before HUAC. If you were a kid who spent sick days watching the Turner Classic Movies Channel, I think you might enjoy! andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/american-m...

“He gave his only Tiki Ti.”

My husband & I have a weekly tradition called “Spooky Sunday” where we invite friends over for a scary movie & a homemade treat. Our living room isn’t big enough for all of you, so I’m sharing a movie rec and a dessert recipe every Sunday on Substack! andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/spooky-sun...

I don’t do drugs because nothing could beat the high of breaking this baby out on my first day of school in 1993.

Trying this positivity ritual where the first thing I do when I wake up is open my gratitude journal and write down how thankful I am that bugs aren’t as big as us.

I’m writing a little series about the Universal Monsters embroiled in the Red Scare of the 1950’s. This chapter features The Bride of Frankenstein playing The Palace, a la Judy Garland. If any part of that sounds cool to you then give it a read! andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/american-m...

A wonderful read, highly recommend it!

As a lifelong Vincent Price stan, (see my Catholic School talent show act in 1994 & my Halloween costume in 2019 for reference) it felt only right to put my love into words. andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/an-ode-to-...

What do we think this Pillsbury cookie is supposed to depict?

“Andor” really hits home that being a fascist WILL give you perpetual stank face.

This picture captures exactly how I felt when I thought I was straight.

My industry’s a mess and my therapist said I should write something that brings me joy so I started a serial fiction about The Universal Monsters navigating the Hollywood Blacklist Hearings. Maybe it’ll bring you joy too! You can read part one here: andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/american-m...

I finally made good on my promise to write about the gorgeous bathroom in “What Lies Beneath.” If you’re curious to know what my spooky little brain does with a longer writing format, feel free to gimme a read and subscribe! andrewduncanfarmer.substack.com/p/we-need-to...

It’s that time of year when I bully my friends into watching this bonkers scene from “Easter Parade” that’s just a slow presentation of hats.

I will always love that the message of the cheerful bubblegum pop song “My Boyfriend’s Back” pretty much boils down to “I know you’ve been telling people we had sex and now my powerful boyfriend is here to kill you.”

I remember getting gifted a Guinness Book of World Records book in the year 2001 that had a two page spread about Turkish Oil Wrestling and the images hit me like a gay semi-truck.

I can’t tell you how long “Blue’s Clues” had me thinking Paprika was just Salt & Pepper mixed together. I was approved for student loans while I still believed this.

You know what? Sure, whatever. Let’s add zombies to the mix.

This collection of bumper stickers brought me such joy, such wonder, that it stopped me dead in my tracks. My evergreen response to haters will from now on be “Call 1-800-EAT-SHIT.”

I’ve started doing something I call “The Delilah Hour” where if I cook an uncomplicated nostalgic dinner while playing 90’s easy listening music from 6:30p-7:30p and it’s lowered my blood pressure by 9 points.

Still mad June Squibb wasn’t nominated!

Morning. Just found out there’s a Saint named Homobonus.

💔

In the 90’s, there was a Jumanji cartoon, where Alan Parrish’s thighs looked like this.

God she’s just perfect. Why would the interviewer (who is inexplicably Parvati from “Survivor????”) have heard about this breakfast anecdote?

This Facebook post apparently has 9.6 million likes and even more comments. Seems legit.

Publix sub packaging reads like a sandwich artist is having an existential meltdown.

This Lucille Bluth monologue is the only thing keeping me together lately.

I drew this H&M mannequin cuz I want to be friends with whoever they are.

So tickled by the laziness of this merch theming. Not even “Batcave Crystals.” No. Batman’s “Magic Rocks.”

LA today

Keke Palmer makes a face in “One of Them Days” that is the amongst the funniest movie moments I’ve seen in recent memory.

I know things are bad because I zoned out for an hour and then realized in that time I had made banana bread. The baked good of crisis.

I just saw a big truck with the license plate “GLAMPA” and I’ve never been more desperate to see what a person looked like.

If you ever played a grandparent in a school play, I feel we are kin in some way.

Vibes today.

Edgy dangerous free speech comedy: lined up with the wealthiest most powerful people in human history

It’s already a turbulent time and the new Wolf Man being bald isn’t helping.
