This 100% sounds like a discussion that my friends and I would have had back in the day. And now I’m thinking about it as a modern day update of the Goofy debate in “Stand By Me”.

NBC aired the first SNL last night and while I’d seen clips of it a few times I wasn’t quite prepared for the format being so different despite all of the pieces being there.

Fuck cancer. That is all.

…dude…this is incredible…

We just tried “when is the fucking Puppy Bowl?” and it worked perfectly. Also sounded like an exasperated parent’s Google search.

50°F day. Snow from 3 weeks ago is still melting. Apple Fitness streak is approaching 3 weeks as well. I think today’s walk will be able to be done without a jacket or hoodie. Things to quiet all of the negative intrusions.

This monster looks like it belongs in the Xanthoria adventure in Candlekeep Mysteries.

Reading the recent NYT article about why BMI is a bad benchmark only to be served advertisements about weight loss.

I don’t know what the world did to deserve Al. We probably don’t.

The level of trauma to the feet that occurs in “Home Alone” has stuck with me since it came out in 1990.

Confirmation for me that people look generally younger now than similarly aged people from 30+ years ago. Watching “Home Alone” and was curious how old the actor who played Marley was when the movie was filmed — 65. Thinking about my dad who is a couple years older than that now and looks younger.

Staring down at a 5-day weekend since I’m taking Monday off. Minimal plans sounds like the best way to have a handful of days off.

I definitely love Thomas Keller’s recipes and need to dig into this book more (maybe 2025 will inspire me?). It’s a little late to start for Thanksgiving, but I highly recommend his roast turkey recipe. It does wonders. Pictures from last year’s Thanksgiving.

Another session in the books for The Wild Beyond the Witchlight. One of my players mentioned how similar certain aspects are to Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and I was unfamiliar, but some quick research shows that it was an inspiration for the adventure module!

I need Trader Joe’s to have an app that gives re-stock and availability alerts of certain high demand items, like chicken sausage, hashbrowns, or orange chicken. Maybe especially so for seasonal items.

GET TO KNOW ME F1 EDITION ✨ Favourite driver: Carlos Sainz Favourite team: Ferrari Favourite track: Spa-Francorchamps Year you started watching: 2014 Best moment: Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton at Spain 2016

Ran a couple of short D&D sessions at the FLGS today and now my throat/voice is feeling rough. Fingers crossed some rest will get me through the next week of games (and work).

Having that D&D moment as a DM where I’m trying to pick up after having not run this campaign in a few weeks (your group isn’t falling apart, it’s just December) and realizing that there’s one aspect that I only tracked mentally and now I’m breaking out a spreadsheet so I don’t forget again.

Trying to get more reading in for 2024 than I did in 2023 (which was barely any). Picking up “Watership Down” for the first time since it’s a blind spot for me that I wasn’t required to read in school. Thanks to Dimension 20 and Aabria Iyengar for inspiring this particular choice.

Working on cooking Thanksgiving dinner while my wife has to work.

One of the characters didn’t make it out alive for the evacuation, but they bought enough time for the civilians to escape. TTRPGs can be so thrilling and gut-wrenching at the same time. Enjoying this Dragonlance module quite a bit.

Sometimes you have to use what’s on hand to make sure the lines on your D&D/TTRPG map are straight-ish: Thanksgiving Edition.

Ran Pathfinder 2e for this first time in a long time at the local NerdLouvia convention. Had a lot of fun and drew some interest from players about playing more. I’ll take that as a big win.

When the rest of the group says they’re going to dress up as their characters for the game the week of Halloween, but you play a half-orc fighter and there’s no way you’re going to get plate armor in time. So for one night only, Casual Friday Roslof.

Mistake made. I’ve been at Gamehole Con since Wednesday night (not the mistake). Have had a great time and walked a lot, but neglected to bring my new shoe inserts and ankle brace from the orthopedic doctor, so that right ankle and foot are feeing it.

I’ll be running the intro adventure, Death House for October’s Virtual D&D Weekend. This is the optional opening to D&D’s gothic horror staple, The Curse of Strahd. It’s creepy and a lot of fun.

*taps microphone* Fuck Jann Wenner.

My brain didn’t go where they wanted it to go with this.

My wife got me a small Lego project a couple of months ago and today I needed a little bit of time to just do the Zen thing. Only half way done and I’ve not done one of these in over 25 years, but here we are.

And then the show got postponed anyway, so…yeah.
