And I am an ally. If you are too, let the world know.

Just a random reminder that trickle-down economics was invented by conservatives in the 1980s to justify massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. It’s been nothing short of a disaster.

History teaches us that when governments begin persecuting a vulnerable minority group while simultaneously making it harder for members of that group to escape persecution by fleeing abroad... it doesn't end well for anyone. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politic...

So glad to be able to talk about "The Shining" with my friend and fellow cinephile Izabel Babic. Recorded live on YouTube... #theshining #stanleykubrick

One thing Musk, Trump, and Vance all have in common is that they are three distinct subtypes of the Extremely Online Rageaholic Asshole. That gives them undeniable power and a kind of energy, but a point is going to come when it blows up in their faces. Pray that it's before it blows up in ours.

What kills me is that Elon Musk is such a weak man. Never forget PayPal paid him to leave because “he was far too annoying to work with.” He’s a coddled man baby and having the DOJ investigating Rep. Garcia because he got his feelings hurt is embarrassing.

“There are many good reasons to accommodate budding dictators, and only one reason not to: Anticipatory obedience is a key building block of their power. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/08/o...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Trump handed massive tax cuts to the rich in 2017. Now he's planning even more cuts. How are Trump and MAGA Republicans planning to pay for them? By making it harder for millions of Americans to access Medicaid, food stamps, and other federal programs. Trickle up economics.

fantasizing about a world where an opposition congress responds to trump’s attempts to usurp legislative power by defunding the entire white house staff

DOGE recommended firing workers at: -FDA, which oversees Neuralink -FAA, which oversees SpaceX -USAID, which probed Starlink -CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X. "Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

Every day will give us a new hero somewhere.

Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post would not run this ad. This is the power of oligarchy.

813 US billionaires held a record $6.72 trillion in wealth at the end of 2024. The bottom 50% of Americans held roughly $3.9 trillion in wealth. When 813 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

A thing I wish I could teach people is that the vast majority of very rich people are deeply stupid. They did not get where they are because of ingenuity or talent. They got there because of compound interest on hereditary wealth and being tax cheats.

This is what oligarchy looks like.

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful. They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone. Don't fall for it.

the single most un-american and anti-constitutional statement ever uttered by an american president

My interview with David Lynch - where we talk about his ideas and film techniques - is back on the BBC after nearly 25 years. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode the deficit. 3) Demand cuts to programs that millions of people rely on. 4) Repeat. Don't let them get away with it.

These are sick people. They have all the money in the world and still want more. They need to spend seven years in prison reading and contemplating Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, and then go into the deep, deep therapy that they have more than the means to afford.

republicans could never persuade the public to vote for social security cuts so instead they’re gonna have their billionaire dictator unilaterally destroy the program

It may seem foolish or useless to speak out like this but it's our jobs as citizens to exercise our speech. This goes out to all those billionaires trying to ruin our form of life and government. Come on now working people...let's have solidarity and say no to the billionaires.

Following Trump's purge of its pro-worker leadership, the NLRB has reportedly dropped its opposition to a SpaceX lawsuit arguing the agency itself is unconstitutional. The richest man in the world is getting a solid return on his $290M investment in Trump.

Warren on Elon Musk destroying the CFPB: "It is a little like a bank robber saying, 'I know what let's do. Let's fire the cops, turn off the alarms,' just as the robber decides to stroll into the lobby of the bank."

Without the CFPB, giant financial institutions — like banks, mortgage lenders, credit card companies, and debt collection companies — will have an easier time picking your pocket. It’s clear who Trump and Musk serve — and it’s not you.
