Really loved the little details of this @milesellingham.bsky.social piece. Especially the fact that a model who has been in cover shoots for Gucci and Dior is one of the leading volunteers in the Natural History Museum's basement beetle rooms.

For @londonermag.bsky.social I visited a room in the @nhm.org that contains 300 years, nine million beetles and a few dedicated bug experts at the cusp of a changing world. Have a read www.the-londoner.co.uk/beetlemania-...

Millions of visitors descend on London every year. As councils face bankruptcy and a quarter of some area's homes are turned into Airbnbs, the capital is considering something new: a tax on tourists. @andrewkersley.bsky.social found out what's going on: www.the-londoner.co.uk/should-londo...

“The health and safety risks of wearing the costume were so severe that actors could spend a maximum of half an hour playing the ogre before they had to be pulled out of the suit for their own safety.” Absolutely wonderful stuff from @andrewkersley.bsky.social and @londonermag.bsky.social 👏

Somebody once told me that every journalist has a white whale. That one story they just can’t get out of their head, that drills its way deep into their brain. Mine is big, green and has more layers than an onion: Shrek’s Adventure.

Do you ever wonder what it's like to work at Shrek’s Adventure? Well I spoke to ex-staff. They told me about actors running Shrek-themed OnlyFans accounts and ogre costumes too dangerous to wear for over 30 mins. My magnum opus for @londonermag.bsky.social www.the-londoner.co.uk/life-inside-...

For @londonermag.bsky.social I profiled Dermot Hudson, a London-born former civil servant who’s made it his life’s work to defend and support the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. He also enjoys windmills. www.the-londoner.co.uk/north-koreas...

I chronicled the saga of Fallout London in @londonermag.bsky.social It's the inside story of a group of volunteers with no funding and no training who outdid some of the world's biggest game studios, with a little help from former Commons speaker John Bercow. www.the-londoner.co.uk/inside-story...

This is a fiercely sad and damning piece about the reality of one of our most admired professions. What a terrible fate for a dedicated man www.the-londoner.co.uk/nhs-doctor-s...

🤔 Who's behind a series of anti Elon Musk adverts on London's Tube and bus networks? 🏝️ Are the residents of the capital's most elite island set to lose their homes? 🍸 South London's cheapest new martini bar All that and more in our new briefing: www.the-londoner.co.uk/whos-behind-...

An NHS doctor dies by suicide every three weeks. A nurse attempts suicide almost every day. @andrewkersley.bsky.social told the story of one of them, Dr Jagdip Sidhu, and how he was failed by the health service he gave his life to. www.the-londoner.co.uk/nhs-doctor-s...

An NHS doctor commits suicide every three weeks. I told the story of one of them, Dr Jagdip Sidhu, and chronicled how working in an underfunded, broken health system left him feeling like there was no future. My story for @londonermag.bsky.social www.the-londoner.co.uk/nhs-doctor-s...

“An NHS doctor dies by suicide every three weeks. A nurse attempts suicide almost every day.” Heartbreaking piece by @andrewkersley.bsky.social in @londonermag.bsky.social this weekend.

'Our reporting shows that Barking’s leading councillors accepted thousands of pounds worth of gifts and hospitality from key construction companies, two of which also employed Barking councillors, including the daughter of the council leader.' Pretty clear grounds to investigate here!

These are pictures of the conditions at two new blocks of flats in Barking. The firms that built them were given tens of millions in contracts by the council to do so, after giving expensive gifts and even jobs to councillors. The council called it a "non-story". Do you agree?

In my latest for @londonermag.bsky.social, I went full Children of Men and looked into London's pandemic of closing schools and the city's increasingly childless future. www.the-londoner.co.uk/london-schoo...

I looked into one of the country's busiest A&Es for @londonermag.bsky.social. Insiders described staff trapped in faulty lifts, corridors full with makeshift beds and those at risk of self-harm being left unsupervised www.the-londoner.co.uk/whipps-cross...

In our new piece @andrewkersley.bsky.social went inside one of London's busiest A&Es. Staff at the East London hospital describe being trapped in faulty lifts, corridors full of makeshift beds and those at risk of self-harm left unsupervised. Full story here www.the-londoner.co.uk/whipps-cross...

There's been a lot of coverage of @princecharlescinema.com and how the beloved London institution is under threat. But few have explored the question of why it's so beloved in the first place. Really enjoyed writing this for @londonermag.bsky.social - www.the-londoner.co.uk/once-upon-a-...

Thing that strikes me in this very good piece by @andrewkersley.bsky.social (who you should follow) is it's not even clear there's an electoral pressure on councils to concede to some of these complaints - not when they come from one or two obnoxious obsessives www.the-londoner.co.uk/noise-compla...

Really good piece on the pub NIMBYism blighting London and the councils that enable it

Huge public service from @andrewkersley.bsky.social to investigate the rise of complaints against London pubs by new residents #ChekhovsNimby

This is infuriating. If the government want an easy win for growth and to support pubs, they should change the licensing laws to make noise complaints much harder. www.the-londoner.co.uk/noise-compla...

This is very very good by @andrewkersley.bsky.social. That is, I spent every paragraph getting angrier and angrier www.the-londoner.co.uk/noise-compla...

I found and mapped every London pub almost shut by council noise complaints last year for @londonermag.bsky.social Often only one neighbour would complain about issues as small as "faint giggles" but they'd still succeed. www.the-londoner.co.uk/noise-compla...

The end has come to our three months of free content at @londonermag.bsky.social In that time I've exposed dangerous cults, dodgy authors and slumlord MPs. I want to keep going. But that requires money. Specifically, it needs you to become a paying sub. www.the-londoner.co.uk/the-day-has-...

The UCKG has been accused of being a cult by former members. How has it managed to spread across London? And why does it have links to Labour politicians? @andrewkersley.bsky.social investigates: www.the-londoner.co.uk/london-cult-...

NEW: The UCKG have churches all over London. Ex-members say it's a cult that practices conversion therapy and makes them donate huge sums. So why does it have links to councillors and MPs? I looked into it for @londonermag.bsky.social: www.the-londoner.co.uk/london-cult-...

Cleaning semen stains, forgotten names, sexual assault and being unable to afford the Tube. Me and @milesellingham.bsky.social documented the experiences of London office cleaners for @londonermag.bsky.social www.the-londoner.co.uk/life-of-offi...

Very interesting story here from @londonermag.bsky.social, excellent work as always by @joshiherrmann.bsky.social and @andrewkersley.bsky.social www.the-londoner.co.uk/a-government...

Now when people ask me why the people running the Elizabeth Line are my arch-nemeses, I can show them this article from @andrewkersley.bsky.social. www.the-londoner.co.uk/the-elizabet...

Ever wondered why the Elizabeth Line has been so badly hit by delays, cancellations and software malfunctions in the last year? The answer is more complex than you think. Read @andrewkersley.bsky.social latest piece to find out more www.the-londoner.co.uk/the-elizabet...
