Day 6 for the Yorkshire Queen, minimal updates from the trails. She’ll soon smell the finish line 💪🏻 Borrowed from the Spines YouTube media, probably Wednesday maybe some footage 🎥 cc @nuddypants.bsky.social @spinerace.bsky.social #spinerace

A picture of Rosie, just because she is so lovely, and I want to let you all know how much I appreciate her.

I'm a touch more visual with my journal - recording the places I visit - but love the way you've elevated the idea of a diary!

Enlarge this image to really appreciate York's transport past. The city's railway station history started with a makeshift wooden station. The first permanent one, designed by George Townsend Andrews, opened in 1841 inside the City Walls on Toft Green. There area locomotives all over if you

I'm only halfway through @lauralaker.bsky.social's book but it's ruining my life. I've already planned a 68mi birthday ride to the coast, bought a pair of gravel tyres (never needed them before) and am considering taking an NCN path to a film shoot in Cumbria. DO NOT read this book. (5 stars.)

What a total star! 🌟 Nicky Spinks wins the Spine Challenger North 2025. She said her highlight was the food, which as Checkpoint Lead, I’m taking as an enormous win! 💪🏻🤩 Absolute privilege to see Nicky take this victory #SpineRace #SpineChallengerNorth

I'm so angry about the laziness and incompetence of the Tories in Opposition I'm gonna fisk this counter-productive Badenoch speech point by point. (1) Don't slag off the managerial middle classes, they used to vote for you and you need them to do that again! (1/?)

skip the school drop off line and traffic with this one weird trick!

Great news!! The Youth Mobility (EU Countries) Bill has just passed its first reading

If anyone can please help out with this crowdfunder. A tough experience for someone who has sacrificed much and we could all benefit. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-groun...

Dear BlueSkyers. Sadly I'm getting many reports of scammers pretending to be me here, incl messaging people with 'investments' . Pls share/help me spread word that, as you know, THIS IS MY ONLY BLUE SKY account (proved as my handle is an official MoneySavingExpert one). All others are scams

On Our Kids In The North will explore topics like the state of Northern schools, the early years of children in our region, why there are so many young people in care in the North and the options available to pupils after they leave school. www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpo...

Anyone? 🙏🏻

A truly good man who believed fiercely in social justice and who I always enjoyed chatting with and sounding off about the state of the world has died. Al Greaves did so much work for the progressive cause and this absolutely gutting. RIP to one of the good ones x

It saddens me to my core that this magnificent chap has passed away. I had the pleasure of his company whilst shooting a tv drama together many years ago. His generosity of spirit and his extraordinarily unique talents were immeasurable. Sleep well, Tony Slattery… you were an absolute delight! 🙌 x

He looks like the keyboard player from a 1980s New Romantic act, angry that the reclusive lead singer won’t commit to a money-spinning reunion. Pictured outside the decommissioned nuclear facility where he built his own studio.

I am facing a large operation with a three to four months recovery therefore I have very limited freelance work opportunities besides H&H Yorkshire Magazine, out 18 Jan. I'm looking for extra writing work from home and can offer features, blogs and more. DM me.

Good morning - Scotland’s Winter 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Passing, by Nella Larsen, is a 1920s book about a complicated friendship with a woman who pretends to be white (it became a film not long ago). It's really vividly written and the characters are very real, and I empathised with them both. Really good

Harold Blackburn (1899-1980) was born in Paddock in Huddersfield. For almost fifty years he worked for C&J Hirst at their woollen mill at Longwood. He was however an accomplished and prolific artist leaving a large body of work to Kirklees Council when he died.

I'm going to miss the beautiful snow and cold, and also the free window entertainment that was watching cars trying to get unstuck from the ice. #winter #photography 📍Bradford, Yorkshire

I am probably going to shout about this LEGO set forever! It was such a good, easy build, especially for beginners; only took an hour or so to finish; it’s the PERFECT size to use for a desk decoration; it looks SO GREAT; it’s a 3-in-1 set; and it’s $30 which is the affordable end for LEGO!

You have to think that @nuddypants.bsky.social might be doing the spine just to get away from her social media notifications 🤣 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... absolutely incredible story.

A subversive critique of Twain’s Huck Finn classic. I especially love how Everett reclaims language to dismantle stereotypes. A page turner. #read2025

Morning! Walked round Snowdonia’s Cwm Idwal in sublime conditions yesterday. Other-worldly, it took my breath away 😎

This morning's snow geese flight. Taken in 4k 120fps thus plenty of slow motion potential here. Stick around till 26 seconds in. That's the real. good. stuff. #birds
