Meet us online from Monday 24 - Friday 28 March to find out more about the professional master’s degrees and research opportunities available at Liverpool. Book now ➡️ www.liverpool.ac.uk/postgraduate...

Hotel booking has no map function. So needed to look each one up on separate browser. For women this is & H&S issue. And no where on list of reasons of why we didn't choose cheapest flights/hotels was *our agenda* or SAFETY. Yes I'm still cross.

VEuPathDB conducted a survey at the end of 2024 to assess the importance of our resources and to explore potential funding strategies following funding changes. We got 1,862 responses! Huge thanks to everyone who took this survey! We will share the results and survey report this week.

People often ask about this and worth reiterating: there are individual PI's labs that cost more than bioRxiv, which serves the whole world. We are working towards a long-term, stable, distributed funding strategy. It's trival $$. Reminder: Research $10^5 journal paper $10^3, preprint $10^1.

At #ECFG17, like at all major scientific conferences worldwide, the talks highlight how science thrives on global collaboration. Borders don’t define discovery - diversity and cooperation do. Meanwhile, U.S. policies seem to be moving in the opposite direction.

Come visit the FungiDB booth at #ecfg17 and meet the @veupathdb.bsky.social team

This looks great, looking forward to trying it out for our genome annotation projects 😀

Thank you to all submitting user comments on #FungiDB record pages. This is a great way to share your expertise with others & showcase relevant PubMedIDs. Submit a user comment & pick up a free "Got fungus?" mug. Submit more than 1 to get a chance of winning a T-shirt! @ecfg172025.bsky.social

🎉 Grab Your Free #FungiDB "Got Fungus?" Mug! 🎉 Attending @ecfg172025.bsky.social? Want to get your hands on this stylish mug? It’s easy! Simply share your knowledge about your favourite gene, and this fabulous mug is yours! Don’t miss out! fungidb.org/fungidb/app/...

Feedly just ranked The Proteomics Show as the top Proteomics Podcast of 2025! The fact it is the only proteomics podcast…they…umm… list on their platform doesn’t make it less cool. @benneely.com Thanks @us-hoop.bsky.social for continuing to sponsor the show! Might be a season 7 announcement soon?

3rd March deadline! 1 post = G8 2 posts = G7 (postdoc) Join us to work, using AI for genome annotation Please RP!

Now seems a good time to mention that I haven't yet filled a postdoc position in phylogenetic methods. If you just lost your job, need something temporary, and know something about bioinformatics/statistics/evolution, talk to me.

No job ad yet, but I'll be hiring a postdoc at Purdue in population genetics/quantitative genetics/genomics in plants. DM if you have relevant experience and are potentially interested.

Seeing US science being vandalised is devastating 💔 For anyone in need of a new job: we have several postdoc and PhD positions in computational genomics, cancer epigenetics and immunology available here in Oxford, UK. We still care about DEI, offer 3y+ contracts and do cool science - get in touch!

Come join us! 3 new posts, using AI, structural bioinformatics and genomics. To work with me, @danielrigden.bsky.social and @veupathdb.bsky.social team. 3 years initially, extendable to 5. Please RP. www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DLT944/b... www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DLU064/s... www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DLU969/b...

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Gold #AthenaSwan Award from @advancehe.bsky.social! Thank you to the ISMIB Athena Swan Team who made this all possible! #GenderEquality | #TeamLivUni bit.ly/4jcgcew

🎉 I'm starting my own lab at EMBL-EBI (Cambridge, UK; June 2025) 🎉 We will focus on identifying and characterizing chemical hazards to humans and ecosystems using computational biology methods. I am beginning the search for two postdocs now - stay tuned for more details! ewaldlab.org

As a recent recipient of this funding, I can highly recommend it as a means of broadening experiences and networks to support current and future research.

Looking for members for the Biofair Research and Technical Advisory Group biofair.uk/news/2024/bi...

Congratulations to Elsie Clarke and Georgia Wells, PhD students from the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, who recently won a gold medal at the 14th 'Challenge Cup' Competition in China. bit.ly/3ZBxjyE #phdchat | #TeamLivUni

last saturday we partnered with @livunihls.bsky.social's public engagement team for their regular 'meet the scientists' event at the eureka! science + discovery museum. our stall (led by @ejjohnson93.bsky.social) aimed to show that scientists can be programmers too and was a huge success!

#TeamMassSpec a question on O-glycosylation modification search.. What's the mass shift commonly given on Ser & Thr for database matching?? Is beta-elimination of S&T a sufficient indicator for the presence of an O-glycan attachment?? Thanks very much..

We' re #hiring a #postdoc in my team at @pasteur.fr and @cnrs.bsky.social funded by Institut PRAIRIE to work on the inference of molecular mechanisms from the integration of spatial transcriptomics and #singlecell multi-omics data. Learn more at emploi.cnrs.fr/Offres/CDD/U...

We are excited to announce a tenure track faculty position on the genomics of resilience! Come join us in EEB here in Tucson! More details about the position at the link below. Application review begins on December 9! 🧪 arizona.csod.com/ux/ats/caree...

Are you a PGR within @livuni-ismib.bsky.social - one more day to sign up for the PGR poster evening - 5th Dec! A great opportunity to socialise, network & practice your presentation skills (if you do a poster)! www.eventbrite.com/e/ismib-pgr-...

Press release on our new paper linking talin to amyloid precursor protein (mis)processing indicating that there is a mechanical basis of Alzheimer's disease. news.liverpool.ac.uk/2024/11/27/n... @liverpooluni.bsky.social

Very excited to share our new paper on Talin binding to Amyloid Precursor Protein indicating a new way to think about Alzheimer's Disease. It has the most provocative discussion section we have ever written :) royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/...

Amazing PhD opportunity with a great team. Please RP 😀

I created a starter pack including people working in #bioinformatics core facilities 🧬 🖥️ I am sure I missed a lot of relevant people, so if you'd like to be added or know people who should be in there, let me know! go.bsky.app/LfGCpSX

Nice study exploring the crazy explosion of articles from some publishers

🎨 In case anyone need… The NIH BioArt Source is an awesome library of *free* professionally drawn illustrations for scientific presentations or figures. Downloadable in HD. Thank you NIH for this invaluable tool 🙏! Check it out 👇 bioart.niaid.nih.gov

It gives me great pleasure to announce our next European Single Cell Proteomics Conference www.apma.at/6thescp/ We would be delighted to receive many abstracts from students so that they have the opportunity to give their first presentation. On behalf of: Erwin, Fabian, Manuel, Fabian and Karl

My perspective on CVs for DIA-based #proteomics is out in JPR It explores how normalisation, the CV formula and software parameters affect the outputs. It suggests parameters to use for biological and technical studies and provides an R package to calculate CVs. doi.org/10.1021/acs....

Global biodata resources are at risk - funding models are fragile and unsustainable. GBC's open letter campaign needs your support to call for solutions. Science leaders have already signed the letter, please join them. Click here for more: globalbiodata.org/open-letter-...

Great AI event today (if freezing hence scarf and coat 😀). #AIsummitLCR
