Been sat for a couple of hours sweeping through every track, checking for consistent quality and then getting everything lined up in the mastering project. The plan is to at least have the instrumental stuff mastered by the end of today, so that all I have left to do is vocals. Busy busy.

Digging through old projects and I discovered a track that got dropped back when I was writing False Starts. I couldn't remember writing much of it, but it turns out the track just needed a bit of time and love to become a banger. Long story short, it's almost finished and it's heavy as balls.

The lack of progress this week is killing me. The vast majority of what I have left to do, is vocal tracking, so obviously it's the perfect time for me to develop a chest infection. Spent a bit of time learning some more VFX stuff for visualisers, but other than that, I've done nothing. It sucks 🙁

Huge amounts of album progress today. Completely re-recorded and mixed an old song that never got a proper professional release. So currently, every song apart from one is now completely finished, minus vocals. Absolutely miles ahead of schedule. Well happy.

I think I might be done for tonight, but so far I'm off to a great start with the album art idea. That's the focal point basically done, next will be little bits like stars and maybe another planet that isn't getting smashed to bits, then after that I have the entire foreground piece to do. Fun

Finally getting around to figuring out the album art/visualiser assets. its only a rough concept draft, but I bashed this out over the past 45 minutes just to test the concept and see what I reckon. Obviously the finished piece will be much more photorealistic than this. Thoughts?

Figuring out interesting harmonies to a guitar solo, when you have zero experience in music theory is tough. I figured out that the scale is C# aeolian and then spent 2 hours figuring out how to harmonise the solo, without conflicting with the chords on the rhythm guitar. Bloody nightmare 🤣

Just started work on the album intro track today. Going for something a bit more mellow, with a focus on atmosphere, that builds up towards the end of the track when everything will kick in nice and heavy. So far so good.🎧

Starting to make some real progress with the new album. 3 tracks are finished, 5 just need vocals, 2 just need the guitars re-tracking and 2 are still in the early stages of writing. I think it's about time I start working on some album art.
