Personally I would like to see Merino and Calafiori start and Sterling to come on for Nwaneri after 60 mins as well as MLS for Calafiori. If that works then repeat for Forest.

Arteta didn't want to stress Merino by telling him he would play as striker in advance. I suggest they tell him he'll be a very advanced central attacking midfielder for the next few games....

So now I guess people will warm to Merino. Like Havertz last year underrated because his technical ability is not always obvious but everyone understands goals.

Would be good to stay onside for a bit.

Partey having a stinker so far

As was pointed out on Arsenal vision the one thing in our favour is Leicester will have no idea what our lineup will be or how we will approach the game or how we might change it. Let's hope Sterling wakes up and scores.

On the up side we must be saving a fortune in appearance fees....

I bet Chidi Obi Martin is feeling like he probably made the wrong call in the summer.....

Thought Clive Palmer on Arsenal vision was brilliant when talking about MLS and racism without saying racism.

Sterling loan seemed like a reasonable gamble at the time. Not now. I'd rather see more youngsters given a chance than watch anymore of his complete failure to do anything at all if note.

Story of this tie was taking chances which we repeatedly failed to do in both legs. Fair play Newcastle deserved it for being clinical. I'll be supporting them in the final whoever it is.

At least the youngsters did ok. I can remember Denis having crap games too so not the end of the world. I suspect we will target CL now and do enough to qualify next season. Two forwards at least are essential for the summer. Failure to pick up Isak when he was cheap looks like a big error.

I don't like the tactic which means Havertz is on the wing. Ain't going to threaten out there and means our build up will be slow to give him time to move centrally

Havertz and Saliva have been dreadful, Martinelli missing a sitter, Martinelli tweaking his hamstring. Bad night at the office

I used to think Oliver a good ref, but sending off Martinelli then Trossard now MLS really makes him look biased. If MLS straight red then Gomez should be also. I hope he is man enough to admit the error but his instinct to reach for red when we play looks like bias.

If the club don't bring in a striker that's on hierarchy not Arteta. Disappointed in Edu walking out before his job done - he was there to get in a striker and stay to find Arteta successor and he has run away. What point in sporting director if they don't stay over extended period?

Let's just hope if we get a penalty v Spuds that the taker hits it with conviction instead of trying to be clever. Too much of our attack is trying to be clever instead of shoot with power when the chance is there.

Given Havertz is a 'doubt' for tonight I think he is a nailed on starter. Since we only have 4 fit forwards it's unlikely Mikel would give Howe anything definite about his line up. Without their best 2 midfielders expect this to be a Toon delay and clog show.

We really need to captilise on Chelsea screwing up and take second place. If we can take second place we are back in it and need to put pressure on Liverpool otherwise they will walk it.

I just want Arsenal to ensure that Saka is properly fit before they play him again. Nothing is worse than not allowing his hamstring time to fully repair. Many good young players have had careers curtailed by rushing back too soon. This is a chance for proper r and r not quick returns.

Heard and read lots of comments about Kiwior being at fault so their first goal but it was Timber who completely failed to compete and it seems Mikel agreed because he was moved to fullback at halftime. Don't think he'll play in the centre again anytime soon.

I for one would be happy for Real Madrid and Barcelona to set up their own league and play each other endlessly - it will make the CL much more interesting without them. It seems they are sulking cos no nation state wanted to adopt them...

Can someone explain to me why Rico Lewis starts games for Citeh? I just don't see what Pep sees in him to warrant repeated starts.

I agree with @yankeegunner.bsky.social that we owe United a real beating as we have faced some truly dreadful lineups over the last few years and not done that well. Would be ironic and delightful if we could do it as they seem better now.

Can anyone explain why Emerson kicking Timber when he's lying on the ground isn't a red card for violent conduct? Unless it's changed one of the criteria for violent conduct is 'kicks or attempts to kick an opponent.'

I'm fairly confident Citeh are not winning the league this year.

If you have both Grealish and de Bruyne on the bench why wait until you're 2 nil down before bringing them on? Even half fit both better than the starters

Citeh looked like they were doing ok and then their defence just imploded.

If de Bruyne isn't completely unfit then Pep has totally lost it.

Why does Rico Lewis make the starting lineup for City? I just don't see it.

De Brune must be really unfit not to make the starting lineup.
