This administration sent 200+ fathers, sons, and husbands to be tortured in a foreign prison for the rest of their lives. 9 in 10 have no criminal record. None received any due process. If you *aren’t* outraged, you need to check your fucking humanity.

That bombshell Wall Street Journal piece on Elon Musk’s creepy “legion” of children and his bizarre procreation fetish is the strongest sign yet that the White House is trying to get rid of him.

"Harvard is changing course, perhaps because it grasped the true takeaway from Columbia’s cautionary tale: Appeasement doesn’t work, because the Trump administration isn’t really trying to reform elite higher education. It’s trying to break it." www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

This is so important. Just because you think your unleashed dog is friendly doesn't mean that the *leashed* dogs are. My rescue lab is sweet but he's afraid of some big dogs and will react aggressively then. If the other dog is off leash there's no way for me to separate them.

Corollary: If you're gonna pat a dog, ask the owner first. Simple question: "Is it okay if I say hi?"

not going to say the timeline would have turned out way differently if elite universities had just told Elise Stefanik to fuck off a year ago, but it probably wouldn't have hurt

I don’t think a better headline could have been written about what happened yesterday. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

This is what judges should be doing right now. If the Trump administration is going to insist that it can’t bring back anyone once they’re removed, then federal judges should put the brakes on any and all removals until the *full* legal process—to ensure the removals are valid—has run its course.

DOGE is a criminal conspiracy to defraud the people of the United States

The cover of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, 51 years ago today:

Oh dear you’re going to want to read this. Looks like DOGErs were caught exfiltrating NLRB data, likely on unions, for private (seemingly Elony) use. This is must read. What we’ve all suspected. But now details. www.npr.org/2025/04/15/n...

"Hungary passes constitutional amendment to ban LGBTQ+ public events, seen as a major blow to rights." Little coverage of this. But Katy Perry's few minutes in space got endless coverage.

important context about the concentration camps in el salvador:

I am sorry to say it, but this is probably one of the most important things you can repost today.

This was my classmate. He was a student in my ethics class, and we used to sit next to each other. Most dedicated person in the class to legitimate justice for all people. He legitimately cared. I am so horribly heartbroken

this is the moment trump declared to every court in the country that the constitutional crisis is already upon us, and i'm not sure that goes the way he expects.

Lawsuit agst Dept of Energy for illegal research grant terminations includes, Brown, CalTech, Cornell, Univ Illinois, MIT, U Mich and Mich state, Princeton and Rochester. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Criminals deserve due process because due process is literally how we determine whether someone is, *in fact*, a criminal

Four R senators and four R House members could announce they're caucusing with the Dems for now, and will vote for Schumer for Majority Leader and Jeffries for Speaker, because the threat to the rule of law is dire. Meanwhile, they'll work with Democrats to construct guardrails against dictatorship.

This. Write your name in the history books on the right side of the ledger.

Kool Aid is gonna be the coolest movie of Summer 2027

I really believe the Abrego Garcia case is the fundamental crisis of our democracy. If Trump is allowed to do this there are no freedoms. This right here, right now is the moment.

Everyone should read the Declaration of Independence. In full. The grievances against George are the grievances against Donald. This is it. We either save our country or we don't. www.archives.gov/founding-doc...

Yep, no doubt Trump's crack team thought this one through and has a plan to deal with this. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/13/b...

Almost certainly an anti-Semitic hate crime. And the President who is trying to tear up the American university system on the pretext of fighting anti-Semitism hasn't said a word.

Trump's moves are already imposing immense costs on the United States and on the world via lost scientific progress on preventing Alzheimer's, curing cancer, etc.

"the state can just summarily imprison someone without filing charges or holding a trial" doesn't just overturn democracy it overturns 1000 years of common law, like throwing out the entire legal system entirely and saying all people in America are the state's property.

The Declaration of Independence is an awesome statement of what a free, fair & just society under the rule of law should be. The opposition to Trump & MAGA are the true inheritors of this tradition. Every opposition rally should read the Declaration to start. www.archives.gov/founding-doc...

Here are two people who've never made any IP worth stealing

i have argued before that MAGA is recapitulating antebellum pro-slavery ideas about citizenship and bodily autonomy. one thing i am also thinking about, when it comes to the rendition of people to a foreign gulag, is the way it is reminiscent of the kidnapping of free blacks for sale into slavery

Just a reminder that these are the people purporting to be outraged by antisemitism on campus. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/11/u...
