All of these court orders about data feel laughable to me. They already hacked the systems. They already have the data. They took advantage of the lag time between the breach and this “response”.

Trump fires San Antonio native C.Q. Brown, the first Black Air Force chief of staff, as chairman of the joint chiefs. His mother tells the Express-News: "President Trump thinks he’s still on ‘The Apprentice.’” www.expressnews.com/news/article... via @expressnews

The VA lays off workers at Texas hospitals and clinics, but won't say how many. When we asked they told us, 'We cannot discuss specific personnel matters due to privacy concerns.' We requested numbers, not details about individual workers. Here goes another FOIA. www.expressnews.com/news/article...

Good ole CPAC, where all the devout come to listen to messages in line with the gospels' treatment of their neighbors. Save for those pesky nazi salutes and all.

Nice calm before the dusting yesterday on Long Beach in Centerville on #capecod

I may have ordered four different bars of chocolate from Ritual Chocolate before 7am on a Friday because you need some great artisanal chocolate in your antifascism survival kit. (In addition to the fundamental elements of great food, wine and coffee). youtu.be/X9FJiDFVoOo?...

Always love the @jameshoffmann.bsky.social reviews - particularly of items I’m actively looking at. #coffeenerds #coffeefeed youtu.be/lUFTOeT9fcE

When the mailman delivers from Guatemala via @yesplzcoffee.bsky.social Gotta love how full these bags are too! #coffeenerds #coffeefeed

It’s too bad so many people see politics as a game rather than something that literally determines whether people live or die.

There have been better starts to a day... LOL #coffeefeed #coffeenerds

'What country am I in?' Famed Black general slams Trump's DEI crusade. Lloyd W. Fig Newton is the seventh African American four-star general in U.S. history and a former pilot with the Air Force's Thunderbirds. He sees racism in DEI attacks. www.expressnews.com/news/article... via @expressnews

Some very cute, quaint, #capecod wishes for the upcoming Valentine's Day from this scene on Main Street in Centerville.

Spent time talking about life and politics with a 26 year old male last night. Smart kid. Hard working kid. World view is somewhere between fatalism and nihilism. How did we get here?

The colors of Sandy Neck Beach in Barnstable, MA on #capecod. Coffee from The Snowy Owl in Sandwich. Even bundled up, this was a chilly one. #coffeenerds #coffeefeed

That Hasami coaster is such a great lid in a sand/snowstorm! No coffee was harmed in the making of this image. #coffeenerds #coffeefeed

Backdoor code left behind changes everything. This is massive.

I know all of us who understand what is happening are experiencing mental health challenges because of that. The only message of comfort I can offer to this community of readers is this: you are correct. What you think is happening is really happening, and is just as concerning as you think it is.

Unauthorized access to systems full of PII would constitute a breach claim in my world 24/7/365.

I loved this Guatemalan from Seven Seas Roasting Co in San Diego. Grateful for my buddy Tanner who sent the bag my way. A very non-San Diego photo shoot, though! #coffeenerds #coffeefeed

Here’s the crazy thing: scrubbing references to Climate Change will not stop Climate Change.

Sad news about a joyful person, beautifully captured by @kimseverson.bsky.social. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/28/d...

Finishing up the last of the Guatemalans on this Friday. Hope everyone is preparing to do and experience good things this weekend, finding some joy & balance in this crazy chapter of life. #coffeenerds #coffeefeed

It doesn’t always feel like 3°, but it always feels like coffee time. #coffeefeed #coffeenerds

Serious question: can the president just spend all his time in office suing people and then use the litigation as a "legal" way of accepting bribes via "settlements"?

Bakeries are my coping mechanism.

Give me all the ice circles; the chafing wind; gulls hovering at the edge of the shore; the winter palette of white, gold and gray; the long shadows from barely advancing hours of sunlight and the dustings of snow. Enthusiasm is enough to keep my soul warm. #capecod

Love the mail on a day like today! Tinned fish + good wine + crusty bread = self medication while the country is on fire. Thank you for being so excellent at what you do Rainbow Tomatoes Garden!

This is an enormously dangerous step toward undermining the safety and efficacy of medical products and services for diseases like Alzheimer's that disproportionately impact women, people living in rural communities, people of color, and lower SES individuals.. #science #health #MedSky #NeuroSky

Amazing amounts of sea ice at Skaket Beach last night. Even the sun was like, “I’m gonna set with minimal fanfare because it’s cold AF. You people should go back to your cars and warm up!” #capecod

I'm fairly certain that FEMA was created because the states couldn't just "take care of it".

Created a list in Notion about "What Works in Troubling Times". My sister then sent me a photo of a blueberry coffee cake she made. We decided that baking works as a coping mechanism when confronting the demise of society as we knew it. Kudos @lilygc.bsky.social

Spite is not governance, indeed.

The Washington Post editorial this morning essentially equating Biden's questionable pardons with Trump's outrageous Jan. 6 pardons was unconscionable. The newspaper I've been part of for 48 years has utterly lost its soul.

Uncertainly is poison for business, investment and America's economy. And Trump is basically chaos embodied. He's unpredictable, vindictive, and unconstrained by norms or even laws. That may be the key reminder from the last 36 hours & the thing I've been dreading the most about the next four years

Imagine watching that sermon and thinking it was "nasty." We elected a man who thinks mercy has no place in a house of worship. God help us.
