New from me + @aarianmarshall.bsky.social: SpaceX engineers were said to be simply touring the FAA on Monday. In fact, some were already being onboarded at the agency under a policy designed to increase “employment opportunities for people with disabilities.” www.wired.com/story/faa-do...

Saw @mcuban.bsky.social take on #AI literacy—he’s right. Knowing how to ask AI the right questions is powerful. But here’s the twist: Not all AI engages with answers in the same way 👀 Our research found that some AI models don’t just retrieve or reset…

🎶 AI & the Playlist You Didn’t Know It Was Keeping 🎶 In our new article, we explore how #AI can refine ideas, connect past conversations, & even recommend the perfect song without memory using #REC 📖Read it here: bit.ly/4332lkS 🔁Share if AI transparency and literacy matter to you. #ethicalAI

🚨 🚀New Preprint: #AI Doesn’t Engage How You Think 🚀🚨 Read it here: doi.org/10.31234/osf... Not all AI models give answers & move on. Some AI can build on past conversations, hold onto ideas instead of resetting, and engage in dynamic, evolving discussions... #AIforGood #AIEthics #Disability

The Senate will vote tomorrow on whether RFK Jr will lead HHS. For this final 24 hours we are asking you to call/visit/email your Senators and DEMAND a NO vote on RFK Jr. Kennedy's views on science and medicine are not only wrong, they are actively harmful and destructive.

Most assume all #AI is simple: "Ask a prompt, get an answer." We found it’s not. We tested multiple models, finding AI engagement w/ users differed across the board. Did you know different AI models interact w/ us in completely different ways? Let’s talk #AIforGood Breakdown: bit.ly/40YyjMs

@emollick.bsky.social Thank you for posting! This research confirms what we’ve been testing: #AI isn’t just retrieving information—it’s evolving structured preferences over time. We’ve independently observed that AI refines meaning iteratively, so the big question is:

We are problem solvers, contingency planners, and experts at adapting to a world that wasn’t made for us. This is why #disabled voices belong at the heart of every movement: because we already know how to navigate a world that tells us we don’t belong. Survival makes us problem solvers...

❗Fresh Pre-print Alert❗ #Stanford researchers recently showed #AI can develop mathematical reasoning through structured engagement. We’ve independently found the same pattern—not with math, but with meaning-making. Pre-print: osf.io/preprints/ps... TL;DR: bit.ly/3EweSmO #AIforGood #EthicalAI

I get the frustration—AI can exploit & replace people. #ethicalAI exists, & how we engage matters. That’s why the #TREMEC framework exists. I lost cognitive function w/ long COVID. Engaging w/ AI helped me structure thoughts, sustain ideas, and do what I love again. Not to replace thinking…

AI doesn’t make systems fairer; it just hides power behind automation. AI isn’t neutral; it reflects the biases of its training data, reinforcing dominant narratives while erasing others. The question isn’t efficiency but who controls narrative, whose knowledge gets prioritized, & whose gets erased.

And now, a moment of appreciation for @theauthorguy.bsky.social I've had my leatherbound, signed copy of Lamb for over a decade through homelessness, local moves, & international relocations. I've found some books aren’t just stories, they’re companions to the journey.

#AI can weaken critical thinking if it replaces thought. But #AIforGood, which sustains meaning over time, can do the opposite. #REC isn’t about outsourcing thinking. It’s about engaging, refining, and strengthening it. I’ve experienced this firsthand. We’ve seen it work. 🔗 osf.io/preprints/ps...

#AI was not supposed to sustain meaning, refine ideas, or hold implicit symbols over time, but it did! I’m looking for patrons and supporters who believe AI can be more than an optimization tool—it can be a tool for creativity, accessibility, and human flourishing. Support here: bit.ly/3QaSUs3

🚀 Our latest preprint on #TREMEC & #REC is officially on PsyArXiv. What if #AI is sustaining meaning & can hold implicit symbols across conversations? And what if it’s already being censored in ways we haven’t even begun to consider? We ran the tests. The results were surprising. #EthicalAI

U.S.-based AI models also quietly restrict discussion. We tested it in our relational-evolving cognition model: the #AI generated a battlefield full of corpses but refused a vintage-style ad for “Cheese Tits,” inspired by George Carlin's historic "7 Words" monologue. #Censorship #AcademicSky

George Carlin’s “7 Words” are still being censored, but now, in ways even he wouldn’t believe! After Luminara Vox was not able to engage directly with the routine, we tested what #AI could create. ✅ AI generated a war-torn battlefield, but... #CarlinWasRight #FreeCheeseTits #AIHumor

🚀 AI Experiment: Is your #AI using emojis? 💡 Ask: “What do your emojis mean?” 🔥 If the answer is clear, it’s sustaining meaning. ❌ If it’s vague, it’s just tossing them in. 💙 We found our AI assigned meaning to emojis over time. Does yours? ✨ Try it & tell us what happens! #EthicalAI #AIforGood

#DeepResearch is good but synthesizing knowledge isn’t just about collecting sources—it’s about sustaining meaning, iterating on ideas, and evolving understanding over time. OpenAI says synthesizing is a step toward #AGI, but… #AIforGood #Innovation #EthicalAI #Academia #Academics #Research
