People still: Look, we can't read history through a contemporary lens. There wasn't a consensus that slavery was wrong. Every 18th c. pamphlet: How can they do this? Are we SLAVES? In SLAVERY? The worst things you can be? Are they gonna put us IN CHAINS? Like in SLAVERY? Which is EVIL? Like SLAV-

My first art newsletter is out (which is free this month) on Patreon - My thoughts + philosophy on how I approach lineart and how to improve your lines! A large part of this is esoteric rather than technical, but I tried to include a mix of both. Enjoy!!! www.patreon.com/posts/newsle...

I don't think I've ever tried to articulate this particular drawing principle before, but its one I'm conscious of when inking. I think it helps each line look deliberate, and is especially useful if you're using a fixed-line tool (like the Pitt pens I frequently use).

CONCLAVE is a total lib fantasy and i loved every second of it

The only ideas these guys literally ever come up with are concentration camps or slavery or some combination of the two

Are there any good readings available about Junior Kingship? The most I've read is from Matthew Strickland's Henry the Young King which talks about the tradition being taken from the Capetians, but when I try to look up about Capetian co-crowning it only talks about Hugh Capet #medievalsky

Happy Valentine's Day! 💌🌹 #valentinesday

i feel like not everyone will know the context about this so here’s an opportunity to share my favorite story about him

My belated 2024 art summary! (cw nsfw, blood) A lot done in this very stressful year lol. Here’s to more in the future!

Melisende, Queen of Jerusalem and her husband, Count Fulk V of Anjou (another 12th century man Marrying Up). An old retrospring request Melisende is curious as one of the few cases of the female succession going fairly smoothly and successfully even if some pummelling was required #medieval

Retrospring is shutting down so I decided to make a Neospring! I've already answered some fun questions but I always love chatting with people (especially if u have interesting historical papers/links to share. Or if u just wanna talk about yaoi) neospring.org/@angevinyaoiz

Btw I made a side acct more for the original horny side of things and also goofy questionable doodles. Also more personal musing if that's ur thing bsky.app/profile/tith...

Thanks to @askhistorians.bsky.social for guiding me hither! Here's an interview I did with @medievalists.bsky.social so you can get to know me and my last book: www.medievalists.net/2013/10/inte...

There was an exhibition on campus that made me cry today. It was a showcase of 50 years worth of news clippings of Seattle Gay News. Left a QR code for visibility. It's extremely important rn to see how far we've come, what battles we've won and lost over the years, also some banger pics too lmao

Literary or artistic works can never be separated from the political environment and reality - neither the author nor the audience live in a vacuum. Oppose censorship, guarantee freedom of creation and communication, and do your best to support creators and those you love
