Elon Musk and DOGE are in the news again for trying to undo firings of USDA staff who were working on the H5N1 avian flu outbreak. Firing people working on a current crisis is visibly stupid. But firing people working on preventing or responding to the next crisis should be seen just as dimly. 👇
