To move a crossing on Streatham High Road approx. 50m south (to be by Gracefield Gdns), TfL will widen a section of the central reservation by a metre. Whatever happened to the Wholemeal Cafe on Shrubbery Road in Streatham? I remember it selling robust, decent-portion-size, vegetarian food from maybe 1980-something until a few years ago. One time they had a lunchtime offer of a main dish - e.g. Homity Pie - with a mixture of salads for £5 or so.
