Wondering why online discourse is so hostile? $10M in foreign money funding went to content creators attacking Canadian institutions, from healthcare to immigration. And researchers say this is just the tip of the iceberg. Read @jenstden.bsky.social in @thetyee.ca | https://buff.ly/3DKNu3Y

Print vs digital distribution is badly broken and it is making it hard for libraries to match demand. But it is just a bunch of bits and bytes. Per copy pricing is a ridiculous way to approach it. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Having just visited a castle that dates back to the 1100s, I can’t help but think this is what Musk and Trump want. A king, some lords, and everyone else living in fear and servitude.

Lots of folk have heard parts of the story of what is happening with my treatment but here is a more complete picture. Season's Greeting (really not meant ironically but sincerely) journey.anguspratt.ca/journey/end-...

I would suggest further that even when it is diagnosed it is often untreated. There are effective tools and often they are not deployed. Temel's research in #lungcancer shows supportive (palliative)care is more effective in extending life than some chemos!

Susan Wojcicki, former CEO of Youtube and one of the principals of Troper Wojcicki Philanthropies, wrote a blog post prior to her passing about her experience with #lungcancer. If you have lungs, you can get lung cancer. #LCSM #LCAM #LungCancerAwarenessMonth blog.youtube/inside-youtu...

A wonderful weekend draws to a close. Cancerconnection.ca is a special community and to spend time with other mentors has recharged me. #redtoque And as always lots of questions about the @TheWRP4LC . Just like my #lungcancer it never leaves me

"Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is the silence in us. Not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal. The sort of silence that is a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are." Remon #redtoque

💙 To everyone fighting, surviving, and supporting loved ones with lung cancer, we stand with you this #LungCancerAwarenessMonth. Let's keep raising awareness together. #redtoque

Starting a meeting with lived experience is growing more common. #lungsummitcanada was no exception. The importance of biomarker testing, early diagnosis, equitable drug access, and research were emphasized by each one. #redtoque

Now the work begins. #lungsummitcanada. These are our identified priorities. The plan to implement these priorities. #redtoque

#lungsummitcanada coming to a close. Dr Christian Finley summarized the work of the day. The path forward is clear. Addressing funding inequity. So many possibilities. Thank you #redtoque

Planning the #redtoque introduction for the patient panel at the #LungCancerSummit. John Lewis or MLK? Or both?

can’t stop thinking about this Mary Oliver poem 🥹

Look out Toronto. The #redtoque and the @TheWRP4LC are headed to the Lung Cancer National Action Plan Summit. I'm excited to see this event coming together. Change the trajectory of #lungcancer in Canada.

Lower your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Soften your brow. Look up from your device. And breathe. You’re doing the best you can. And it’s enough. You’re enough. Keep going.

nnovative treatments are giving patients new hope, but we need more research funding to save more lives. 💙 #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #redtoque

Small lifestyle changes can lower your lung cancer risk: eat well, stay active, avoid pollutants, and don’t smoke. #LungCancerAwareness #redtoque

This #LungCancerAwarenessMonth, let’s push for equal access to cancer care. Every person deserves a fighting chance. 💪 #HealthEquity #redtoque

Genetic factors play a role in lung cancer too—not just smoking. Make sure to get checked if you have a family history. #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #redtoque

The rewarding end of a another #bccancersummit. The hope of #lungcancer patients being treated in BC. #redtoque

Sorry I look so serious but it was a long day. #bccancer2024 and the White Ribbon and the #redtoque are making themselves visible. Fascinating session on predictive AI and how to implement it.

Lung cancer kills more people each year than breast, colon, and prostate cancers combined. Know the risk factors, and take action. #LungCancerAwareness #redtoque

Lung cancer receives only 6% of federal government dollars spent on cancer research. Get active on social media and in your community to let everyone know #AnyoneWithLungs can get #lungcancer! Start here: lungevity.org/lcam

An excellent set of questions to sift through pseudoscience. Only three but we'll focussed!

"Living with lung cancer is like a rollercoaster, but I’m grateful for every day." Share your story with us. 💙 #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #redtoque

#lungcancer research receives less funding than many other cancers. Advocacy can change that. Help us raise funds and awareness. #LungCancerAwareness #redtoque In Canada 3% of research funding vs 25% for breast cancer. And yes I'm a breastie as well.

So I haven't found anything like birdbot or Canadian Art that I used to keep my feed on xitter reasonable. Any thoughts?
