Watched it today. Definitely looked and sounded great.
The vibes feel a lot more like LotR than in a certain TV series. Especially if you read it as "the legend of..." (which is pretty clearly the intent) and not as "this is exactly how it happened".

Most other non-fiction stuff I've read in the past decade is math/science with some levity thrown in. Things like xkcd's Randall Munroe with his "What If" books or Matt Parker's mathematical escapades. Also, Bill Bryson's "A Short History of Nearly Everything" is one I remember fondly.

Not exactly my purview but on the off chance that you haven't read it yet: Neil Gaiman's "Norse Mythology".
