I created Democracy Docket in 2020 to be fearless, independent and pro-democracy. Its work has never been more important. While others bow down, it stands tall. When legacy media equivocates, it pulls no punches. If you want to support, please sign up now. www.democracydocket.com/me-subscribe...

Sad. I thought this kind of "retaliation" only exists in countries like China, Russia, etc.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

Three days ago, Donald Trump openly threatened to kill all of ‘the people of Gaza’ and it wasn’t even a story. No consequences. The media, the world, just moved on.

I wrote section 230 to protect the little guys and the upstarts like Bluesky. Repealing section 230 only helps Meta, Musk, and Donald Trump.

Perhaps the most insidious thing President Musk is doing is decimating the federal government's production of data. This will make it more difficult for his critics to show, objectively, how stupid his policies are. Stalin did the same thing and executed a great economist named Nikolai Kondratiev.

Can't wait for the Party of Reagan to explain how Lech Walesa is a woke commie simp.

Trudeau: "He talked about banking again today in a tweet, which doesn't make any sense because 16 banks are currently active in Canada holding about $113b worth of assets in this country... what he wants is to see a total collapse of the Canadian economy, because that'll make it easier to annex us."

Volodymyr Zelensky's Oval Office visit ended early when Donald Trump and JD Vance began angrily yelling at him. Here's why women like Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton are too emotional to be president.

But he was still elected. Why?

But I bet many poor guys will still support trump. What can I say? Republicans Gamble on a Regressive Economic Agenda www.nytimes.com/2025/02/27/u...

I will use every tool at my disposal to protect this country from Trump. I will litigate to defend voting rights until there are no cases left to bring. I will speak out against authoritarianism until my last breath. I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.

Profound…

In Nazism this was called the Führerprinzip, which meant that everything Hitler wanted was legitimate and beyond the rule of law. Just saying..

Just found The Peloponnesian War by Thucydides. Read several pages and immediately got hooked by its brilliance. Had heard from many others about Thucydides' status as not only a great historian, but also an important philosopher...an interlocutor of Plato, etc. Glad that I began to read him.

He who rambles on about Hannibal Lecter, Arnold Palmer’s dick size, windmill cancer, and turning Gaza into a real-estate play, and thinks he’s saving the county, should have his head examined.

The demons are out, as they smell something.

That guy is not just "too clever by half". He is complicit.

So many people still support him. What can I say...

But, what can we do next?

Finally... What will happen next?

If the White House decides it can defy the will of the courts, then the people must defy the will of the White House.

J.D. Vance must’ve thought he was scoring points by saying “Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power," but of course controlling abuses of that power is exactly what Federal Judges must do — and what Judge Engelmayer did in this very case. search.app/hHJJWzMXS2f2...

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

Sometimes self-government just means elections. And sometimes it means recognizing the deeper dignity and meaning of what it means to be a people. That means speaking up, standing out, and protesting. We can only be free together. snyder.substack.com/p/the-logic-...

Corrupt as hell. Sad.

Can't understand someone is sincerely proud of their incompetence, unqualifiedness, and mediocrity. Really can't understand that.
