I've been using this tool called Big Interview to practice job interview questions with this roulette module they have but because it's pulling from their entire library of example questions sometimes I get stuff not even remotely related to my field or career level and it's so scary every time

I've been watching PBS News pretty much daily for a couple weeks now and can I just say it's literally the national broadcast news show of my dreams? It's so... normal? No deluge of crazy graphics. No ocean of talking and yelling heads. Just anchors reporting, B footage, and one-on-one interviews.

I've been wanting to change my cellphone provider for months so I can save money in the long run but I keep putting it off because it costs money that I don't have to do that. like if I had $45 dollars today I wouldn't be so eager to get out of a $95 a month phone plan. 😭

I found out that the Drops app offers Irish now and remembered really liking it for quick little vocab drills but I can't decide if the speaker is mispronouncing words or if it's just dialect tomfoolery at play. why does she pronounce buachaill like that. they don't say it like that on teanglann!! 😭

I was reading this James Legge translation of The Analects of Confucius but I have decided to drop it in favor of finding a translation that's a little more accessible. I'm clearly missing a ton of context and the language is pretty dense and archaic.

I called my representatives to (diplomatically and civilly) yell at them last week and I'm gonna do it again tonight. I found 5calls.org, it gives you your reps' contact info and has a bunch of scripts you can use depending on what you wanna yell about. and I call after hours and leave voicemails.

neat thing from Politico: www.politico.com/news/magazin... tl;dr the data isn't wrong but the way it's being examined and shared is inaccurate to a point of dishonesty. e.g. unemployment, factoring underemployment and people who gave up searching, is closer to 24%. we're not crazy, shit is dire.

fuming over the price of groceries as per usual but now it's tinged with the added knowledge that food in China costs a fraction of what it does here, even in bigger cities with higher costs of living. food is cheap and it's everywhere. people are encouraged to garden.
