In 3 days, the number of measles cases in a highly unvaccinated area of Texas has doubled. There are now 48 cases, all of whom are unvaccinated, and 13 of whom have been hospitalized so far, for a hospitalization rate of 27%. This is huge figure in epidemiology. This outbreak will keep spreading.

This is the Phoney War period, when papers are signed and before the inevitable suffering, & chaos begins for the average people.

I have made new women friends over the past two years, which was a rare occurrence when I was in my 30s. Kids and families often made me feel cut off from my peer group during that decade. My new friends have grown children & are free to start hobbies and go places.

Most people who say they are celebrating a return to meritocracy think that loyalty to the party is the only merit that matters.
