#Caturday !!!

Tonight's grub: fennel risotto with lemon. (From Rachel Roddy Guardian recipe; mine always turns out less creamy but it's still good.) #Food

Bing Crosby #BOTD 1903 Here he is in "The Road to Rio" with his #threefriends (the Andrews Sisters) in 1947, when he was still (somewhat) hip. www.youtube.com/watch?v=32rW...

If not now, when? Thanks to @monicarooney.bsky.social for the prompt.

"Every Bloomsberry has 3 friends." Bertie seems a bit left out, but he's probably thinking, "Now's my chance at the ladies..."

Lorenz Hart, #BOTD, 1895 🎶 If you have 18 minutes to spare, love #Rodgers&Hart and enjoy show tunes as they were performed in 1929, this is a period gem, filmed at Vitagraph Studios in Brooklyn. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpFy...

More #CanadianArt #Ephemera - No. 6(?) in a series A gallery invitation for a preview on the evening of May 2nd. No year, but the photo at right is from a Globe & Mail article dated May 11, 1968. (Yep, that's me.) 📷James Lewcun Artist: Royden Rabinowitch, b. 1943 (Order of Canada, 2002)

I remember watching his late-night show with my dad (a rare moment of bonding, during school holidays only). I still prefer Steve Allen's dada-ish comedy, but Paar had an unhinged, malevolent energy that was mesmerizing. (The originator of train-wreck TV, perhaps?)

Well, at least *that's* over, with a few bright spots.
