That sub-headline is HORRIBLE. It automatically accepts the idea that a Black man got his job bc of a diversity program, not bc of … I don’t know … talent. Hiring a Black man is not automatically “diversity,” @nytimes.com. This headline is a bracing acceptance of a racist narrative.

The NYT, once again, provides free PR for this administration by reprinting their racist/fascist talking points -- rather than engaging in real journalism. This is why we must defend #FreedomtoLearn in K-12 so young people can read critically, spot the propaganda, & seek out independent media.

Nurture the hell out of the seeds of the future you want because they too are sprouting in the chaos.

Spoke to someone incarcerated at Woodbourne last night who told me that “So far, the National Guard are nicer than the correction officers, and don’t really seem to know why they’re there.”

You have died of procedural norms.

this is wretched and will result in mass sexual assault of these inmates

For all of yall clamoring for a quality candidate to represent Minneapolis Ward 4 Northside, all of yall clamoring for me to run, in fact there is a candidate that is head and shoulders over me! thats why I am supporting Marvina Haynes. www.marvinaforward4.com

Know Your Rights trainings work. Don’t even open the door. Really, to anyone. If it’s someone important and they know you, they have a cellphone, they’ll call.

Just received Multisolving by Elizabeth Sawin, Director of the Multisolving Institute! Perfect timing as we explore scale in STEM education and create inclusive environments. Sawin’s message: our toughest challenges are best solved together. Let’s break silos in STEM, equity, and beyond! #STEM

Looks like @nytimes.com has stealth-edited this to add Evans' affiliation with Young Republicans. No correction or update note. I don't think I've ever worked with a single editor who would let me get away with that but it seems to happen regularly over there.

Every liberal "paper of record": maybe the fascists have a point Eater: Know your rights

The exonerative tense

the kids did it — and showed more courage at that moment than anybody who’s running their school

At some point we need to realize that corporate media isn’t going to inform people and figure out a new plan.

I've been researching the moral failings of U.S. legacy media conventions for 20 years and you just..tweeted it out in a remarkably comprehensive nutshell. This is it. This is how we got here.

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."

That is correct We are in Nuremberg Laws territory already

I'm starting to suspect that they might not actually be working for "All" of Mpls... 🤔

Comrade card for 2/21/2025. Feeling without action will shrink the heart.

This just came across my feed again and I'm feeling energized to repost it every single time. @aoc.bsky.social , @robertgarcia.bsky.social, and my own great rep @repilhan.bsky.social can have a pass.

Tagging a bunch of people who I think would like to know about #OFMDCraftFair - it's an online auction that has already raised over $26,000 for the Trans Youth Emergency Project! www.32auctions.com/ofmdcraftfai...

get the orcas.

I hope and pray that future history books will include a chapter on all the headline writers carrying water for fascists

I *am* trying to deescalate all conflict that's not with the enemy, but I am mad today about the white progressives who tut-tutted&patronized when we said these were Nazis. What I'm particularly struggling with is that these people probably *still* think it's embarrassingly outré to call them that.

If you’re going to force me to look at Nazi salutes by using them as the images for the articles you publish, have the fucking decency to call it what it is. Provocative gesture? Literally what the fuck is wrong with you.

I’m begging the media to call Nazi salutes … “Nazi salutes.” You can write “he gave a Nazi salute.” That’s the proper journalism. Describe things as they are even if people get mad.

“This is nice behaviour, that I write to you again and again, and you pay no attention to me.” This almost 4,000-year-old Babylonian letter in clay is proof that we have been finding ways to say “per my last email” for some time
