In Victorian floriography tulip colours held meanings: red meant a declaration of love, purple symbolised undying love, variegated praised beautiful eyes, and yellow spoke of hopeless love. Tulips in general symbolised avowal, consuming love, eloquence and fame. #FolkloreThursday

Finished Riley August’s “The Last Gifts of the Universe” over the weekend. Lovey, oddly uplifting and sad book. But the cat wasn’t as violent as I hoped. But still, a cat in space. With his own space suit. Next up is Marie-Helene Bertino’s “Beautyland” which I’m quite excited about.
