Sharing some resources for people trying to figure out how they might want to plug in if they aren't already: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

We closely monitor infectious diseases in Boston. Currently, there have been no reported cases of measles. We’ll be sharing common questions about measles here on #Bluesky. What do you want to know about measles? Let us know below. #Measles #MMR #IDsky #Boston

Here’s the thing about the tariffs: there will be no “short term pain”. Only long term. Every time a company realizes they can get away with charging you extra they don’t ever lower the price again. They just gouge. Whatever price hikes there are will be here for good.

A favor to ask: If you saved $10 on groceries recently, consider donating that $10 to a local food bank (unless you're already using it for something else). Food banks have had hundreds of millions of dollars stripped from them in the past few days. But people need to eat. My local food bank:

Victory gardens & CSAs aren't going to solve the potential foodways crisis on the way, BUT they can help your family, while lessening the stress on the system AND connecting you to satisfying work & a community. If you can get to North Cambridge I highly recommend Sun Moon Farm www.sunmoonfarm.org

A banner supporting a detained Tufts student was removed after being displayed at Gillette Stadium. We spoke with one of the fans involved with the banner to discuss what happened and why they made the banner. www.theblazingmusket.com/p/banner-sup...

NEW: Per a source with knowledge, the entire HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy, or OIDP, was just fired.

In response to the @nwslsoccer.com expansion team name Boston Legacy FC, someone claimed there was no legacy for women's soccer in the city. Today I found this, in three newspapers published in 1923: (Library of Congress chroniclingamerica.loc.gov)

The decision a lot of universities face now is whether to: -- have their federal funding pulled because they stood on principle to protect their students and the integrity of their research, or -- have their funding pulled anyway just because they exist, regardless of how cravenly they submit.

SEIU MA State Council Denounces Detention of Tufts Graduate Student & SEIU 509 member Rumeysa Ozturk. Read more here: www.seiu509.org/seiu-massachusetts-state-council-denounces-detention-of-tufts-graduate-student-and-seiu-509-member-rumeysa-ozturk/

Somerville is as good as it gets in the US. City level protections for LGBT and immigrants, socialist city council members, active mutual aid groups, And it is not safe. There is nowhere in the US safe from fascism. Resist and protect your neighbors no matter where you live.

Markey's silence on the abduction of Rumeysa Ozturk is damning. Someone needs to run against @markey.senate.gov if he is willing to abandon Massachusetts residents to the Trump regime's Gestapo. @pressley.house.gov has my vote if she runs against him in 2026.

When will we hear from @warren.senate.gov & @markey.senate.gov? I expect ALL public officials in Mass. to fight for Rumeysa Ozturk and ALL international students whom this administration wants to disappear for daring to decry human rights abuses.

WHAT THE FUCK Also, @universalhub.com:

Donald Trump has vowed to deport millions and jail his enemies. To carry out that agenda, his administration will exploit America’s digital surveillance machine. Here are some steps you can take to evade it.

Today marks the vernal equinox, the official first day of spring! Longer days, sprouting plants, and warmer weather mean it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy Boston’s beautiful parks. 🌷 📸: Amy Honan Rodriguez

Original, 13th C. lyrics to "Good King Wenceslas": Spring has now unwrapped the flowers, Day is fast reviving. Life in all her growing powers, Towards the light is striving. Gone the iron touch of cold, Winter time and frost time, Seedlings working through the mould, Now make up for lost time.

missed connections: if you were at the combination NWSL season opener / very queer birthday party / emo show at @dorchesterbrewing.bsky.social last night, I want to be your friend.

The headline really sanitizes what they did to this guy. Getting stripped naked, inadequate food, sleep deprivation sounds more like war on terror ear rendition than "interrogation."

so earlier i left Warren a VM telling her to remove Schumer and become minority leader

The "trans debate" has always been about defining "womanhood" as specifically being abled, thin, pretty cishet white women. Any woman who does not have a lock on abled cishet white patriarchs calling her "pretty" is not a woman. Men who can't hit women have no rules about hitting Not Women.

Non-white women are going to be accused of being masculine or gaining an edge, when they defeat white women who fit the western ideals of femininity. All that white women will need to do is accuse their non-white opponent of not being a woman. And men will come to destroy her to feel “protective”.

Big thanks to the amazing @dorchesterbrewing.bsky.social and M&M BBQ for being such awesome hosts! 🍻⚽ Great crowd, great energy, and a fun night of NWSL shenanigans. Our team takes the field in 2026 - until then, we're rooting for everyone! Join Boston ISA today at www.bostonisa.com/join-the-isa

Black history is soccer history. We're highlighting the players who have helped shape the game in Boston and beyond. ⚽️🔥 Learn more about their impact ⬇️

Irregular check in: sports edition. Have decided to get back into soccer this year. In lieu of a local NWSL team, I've pledged myself to be a fan of the Portland Thorns. Any recommendations social media / YT / sports blogs that are Thorns/NWSL related deeply appreciated.

Musk has sicced his followers on the WSJ writer who reported on a DOGE staffer’s racist online, history demanding her firing. This is a tactic Silicon Valley’s neoreactionaries have been advocating for years: Pick a reporter, dox and harrass, make an example of them, make everyone else afraid.

I need to hear this right now, which means that others probably do too: However you're getting through this, you're doing a good job. This month's been fucked up and intense and I know I'm not the only one who's overwhelmed. It's exhausting and cruel, and the important part is getting through 🩵

In Massachusetts, one of our regional transit providers found that eliminating fares: • Saved time and maintenance • Lowered rider complaints • Eliminated conflict between drivers and riders • Led to 60% higher ridership than pre-pandemic This is while the nearby MBTA's ridership is down 36%.

DO NOT FORGET: To them, queer and trans lives are inherently sexual. Banning porn to them means banning mentions of us.

Reminder that pornographers are your allies and anti-porn people always have a fascist hiding under the surface. And I say this as someone fairly ambivalent about porn.

If you're one of the 40 million people with student loans, Elon Musk’s team may have gotten access to your Social Security number, income data, and personal information. I'm leading 18 senators in an investigation into DOGE’s actions at the Department of Education.

Let me say it again: Trans people deserve to play sports. Trans people deserve health care. Trans people deserve access to bathrooms. Trans people deserve to be treated like human beings. This Congresswoman loves you and will always have your back.

@elizabeth-warren.bsky.social if you're an official account, you NEED to change your name to include your website, so that people can verify in these times of easily faked news if you're not, keep on scamming i guess

This does make us sound like changelings. How many trans people do you think are in the entirety of college sports? What if I were to tell you there were just 10 of us. Just 10 of us and look at the havoc we've wrought. In the end, it's your fear that will destroy you.
