Is everyone paying attention?

Sometimes the combination of arrogance and ignorance is breathtaking. Yes, US health care has high admin costs; that's because it relies so much on private insurers. Govt-run health insurance has much lower overhead

"Men of factious tempers, of local prejudices, or of sinister designs, may, by intrigue, by corruption, or by other means, first obtain the suffrages, and then betray the interests, of the people."- James Madison Federalist #10. How prophetic.

Really interesting how all the supposed biased media completely changed their tune to signal their support for Trump. The entire population of a clown car is currently being nominated to federal positions, but let's hyper fixate on one kinda questionable pardon.

The Hunter Biden pardon highlights one of the weaknesses of the liberal media apparatus. Trump has networks and podcasts that signal boost his message without question. Liberal media is currently decrying the potential overstep of presidential power. Democrats failed to curate supportive media.

1/2 Why are safety net expansions and business/economic growth treated as a zero-sum game? The reality is better social welfare policy is reliant on high productivity and market capitalization. Where else does the necessary tax base for these programs come from?

Donald Trump: "The US needs to address its trade deficit." Also Donald Trump: "Let me place tariffs on net importers of US goods and services."

In the immortal words of Richard III, "My kingdom for an edit button" or something.

Me, trying to determine if another coffee will trigger my anxiety... Evidence for: over a decade of observational data suggesting this is the case. Evidence against: Vibes

I'm curious: How is this policy of placing tariffs on Canada and Mexico going to interact with the (totally not NAFTA) USMCA trade agreement?

Okay, hear me out, F1 might seem like a bougie sport, but it is actually peak praxis. The capital class is literally competing for our entertainment.

The funniest of all the miserable timeliness under a Trump presidency would be Fed Chair Powell signaling increased interest rates every time Trump announces a pro-inflationary policy. If life is going to suck for everyone, it should at least be mildly annoying for Trump.

Anyone remotely left leaning needs to reconsider the level of purity testing we impose on prospective candidates. Our sole question should be, "Which candidate is better?". To quote Viktor from Arcane, "In the pursuit of great, we failed to do good."

Tell me again how electing the candidate with purely inflationary policy will address the supposed inflation crisis?

Democrats really need to start engaging in the positive economics of their positions. Talk about why immigration, trade, globalization, diversity, and social safety net expansions are good. Liberals have conceded far too much ground to the right. Liberal economics works; just look at Scandinavia.
