This is 828 Shaw. It's a 6 minute walk from Ossington Station, situated on what's arguably Toronto's greatest bike highway. The previous structure burned down in 2022. There's currently an application to subdivide the lot into 3 parcels each housing a four-plex for a total of 12 units.

On Saturday I'll be walking with some friends under the team name "Frank Lloyd Walks" on behalf of Sistering, a multi-service 24-hour drop-in for women and trans people from across Toronto. They do great work so support would be deeply appreciated. secure.e2rm.com/registrant/F...

NEW: The City of Toronto is forging ahead with plans for new bike lanes despite provincial crackdown City staff are proposing over 12 kilometres of new bike lanes, including in Cabbagetown, the Annex, Wallace-Emerson, and Bathurst/Steeles

The attempt to course correct from “hysteria” to “passion” 😵

It was my pleasure to be able to contribute to this issue of the Spacing with an article about Yonge North, the Persian businesses/cultural district and the future of TehranTO! Pick up a copy and read about this fascinating street!! Mine is in the mail!

If I were ever invited to give the Superbowl Halftime show, I would accept and then at the very last minute not attend. This would give the masses a practical lesson on the importance of the concept we urbanists call "The Missing Middle".

Love that this is one of the only things I've ever seen that Holyday decided "huh, better not be the lone dissenting voice" on (favourite Holyday moment was when he voted against some kind of bee protections and another councillor went "what have got against *bees*, Holyday?")

I was upset with the inaction on this file and wanted to find a way to highlight local businesses that have a little less street presence or social media pull due to the imposition of tariffs. This little crowdsourced map came together in about four hours…needs some work but check it out!

In an effort to get off the cursed app, I have revived my dormant newsletter, Another Glass Box, starting with a round-up of me trying to attend a billion things the last week as DesignTO booted up.

It’s DesignTO season which means I’m going to a different party every night for a week 😵‍💫

I love the ttc

Considering how few shelter beds are available, I think this is evidence that there is capacity to tax people more in this city.

POV: you’re waiting for your breakfast sandwich and check on your dog

Perhaps it’s my keen critical thinking skills honed by years of not using AI, but I didn’t really need a study to tell me this.

Two ghost bikes at Bloor and Avenue adorned with fresh Christmas tributes. There were six cyclist deaths in 2024--we must demand better for 2025.

This is the best day of my life

The magical lights of Yonge Dundas Square are how Toronto earned the moniker “The City of Lights”

Merry Christmas everyone

Spent a little time taking some atmospheric and dreamy shots of Christmas Eve in Toronto. Have a lovely night everyone.

Some rare pennies to make up for lost time

The government should provide some sort of physio subsidy to every sober alcoholic from the December to January. Just try to imagine the whiplash of clenching your butt nonstop at functions for a month, then BAM! The normies pivot immediately to Dry January. I ask you this, where is my cheque?

A coffee shop in a residential neighbourhood is TOO WILD for Toronto City Council. Thanks for trying @alejandrabravo.bsky.social. I'd shake my head but City Council banned that too. I yearn for the day when disruptive coffee buyers won't destroy neighbourhoods.

I love having a dog. I love waking up at 7 am. I love to pick up dog shit that is the same colour and consistency of the 1/2 pumpkin pie she stole off the counter the night before.
