Not actually a lizard. And I don't look like Mark Heap. As a literal representation, this profile has entirely failed so far. Let's try again. Middle aged Scottish weirdo. I write, play drums and sometimes make other music. There. I suppose that'll do.

Never saw that episode..sounds truly remarkable.

'We must join with him, Gandalf. We must join with Elon, and forge a Doge of our own to challenge him.'

I would like to be able to disagree with this, please. Haven't found a flaw in the argument yet though.

anyone want to build grotesque new logics with me from hideous and malformed first principles 🥺

There's a common path in the development of authoritarian or totalitarian regimes, regardless of whether they are overseen by Catholic Inquisitors, Protestant enforcers, monarchists, fascists, Nazis, Stalinists, Maoists .... First they eliminate words. Then they eliminate people.

I love how the country that panicked so hard it let 9/11 usher in an era of full fascistic imperial burnout is now handing air traffic control over to a guy who is massively in debt to Saudi Arabia.

This is a concentration camp. They are describing a concentration camp.

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded…

This is true. A pal of mine who is a policeman went to a Scottish island recently to investigate a missing person and when the locals found out he was a Christian they stuck him in a giant human-shaped willow branch construction and burned him alive.

The left are wrong to claim these rings will “corrupt” us, and it’s time we finally stood up to critical wraith theory | my latest for the New Orc Times

How did Mr Tumble sneakily recreating the cover to Black Sabbath's debut album escape me for so many years?

Huge If True.

you know out of all the people to ignore the executive order the funniest ones to do it are probably the people literally in the military hierarchy beneath the guy

One of my favorite typos ever was "The Loch Ness Mobster". "This is a lovely bed and breakfast you have here, Dougal. Be a shame if anything were to happen to it..." *SMASH*

We might yearn for paradise, temporal or spiritual. But to our descendents our habitable planet will look like an almost unimaginable paradise. No tech fantasy, no space station or controlled environment will ever compare. Fight for what we have. This is our heaven, and there can be no other.

'they've lost the barricades.'

My friend says I’m self-absorbed, so I took a long, hard look at myself. Beautiful

Tim Burton, Director of Batman (1989): "So Prince, how's the soundtrack coming along for my new film?". Prince: "Made it real sexy like you asked, Tim." TB: "What?"

Shortest tragic story ever.

Truly wild that they got away with “Bustin’ makes me feel good.”

I've started listening to a meditation app to help my scatty brain stay focussed at work. Today's meditation centred on the question 'what would you do if this was your last day?' and immediately my brain made list of all the people I'd finally tell to go fuck themselves. #unintendedconsequences

Do we need to keep mentioning every instance at this stage? Yes. Because making this so normal it’s unremarked upon is what they WANT www.404media.co/nasa-dei-dro...

From someone who's been in a very small minority against oversized opponents and did well enough in the end: Have your eyes open. Don't pretend it's not happening. Plan accordingly. Build up your independence. Seek allies elsewhere. To compensate for losses, take advantage of your new flexibility.

I appreciated "Lemmings," the video game where you did your best to efficiently save as many lemmings as possible. You always had limited resources and limited time. The lemmings operated simply, and you could train some of them to have special skills. But the goal was to save everyone.

There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.

Radical publishing notion, right here: if your publishers are making a living from publishing and selling your books, then you, the author, should be making a living from writing them.

youtu.be/wTBWmy65VX8?... Just thinking of this all of a sudden.

If the FAA director got fired over a business beef AND there was an air traffic controller hiring freeze despite huge shortages AND a chaotic blitz to hollow out federal bureaucracy, and then within a week the first American airliner crashes in 16 years, you would be insane not to talk about it all.

Sir our plan to replace the entire government with 4chan freaks has run into a few snags

Pay attention - this isn’t going to go away. (H/t Stella)
