It is impressive how many cannot do some simple research and realize this is the third tomb of a pharaoh confirmed since Tut. Poor Psuennes I keeps getting forgotten, while Woseribre is tricky. This article at least provides better pictures of the tomb than others www.livescience.com/archaeology/...

Not often you find surviving documents written in Nabatean, let alone a Roman legal court course in Judaea confirming speculated on aspects of slavery there. www.livescience.com/archaeology/...

Wealthy Romans be wealthy Romans. That is one large, sumptuous private bath. I wish there more photos of the wall reliefs. apnews.com/article/ital...

Cunobeline coins. You don't see those often. War booty or offering like the article mentioned are the most probable, but it might also be someone's buried hoard. www.livescience.com/archaeology/...

Lantern rat

Huh. This is a honestly amazing discovery. Like the article mentioned, you very rarely find these deposits intact since ag or amateur discovery often deals its damage, let alone with the material they were buried in such excellent condition. www.livescience.com/archaeology/...

I'm not surprised it's not the skull of Arsinoe IV. I'm glad this mystery is solved, though, it does reveal this young boy was beloved for burial in the octagon. www.livescience.com/archaeology/...

The burial crowns are in surprisingly good shape given the tumultuous times they survived. A slight miracle they managed to remain hidden after being secreted away post discovery in the 1930s. www.lrt.lt/en/news-in-e...

This is a gorgeous Sixth-dynasty tomb. I'm disappointed there is only one image of these fantastically vivid reliefs. www.artnews.com/art-news/new...

The importance of conservation and restoration is yet again demonstrated. The Old North Church takes the spotlight in this case, and what an unexpected find. Kudos to the conservators for revealing these relief buried by a later generation. www.lewistownsentinel.com/news/nationa...

Eggers's take on Nosferatu is such a delight of horror and ambience. Bill Skarsgard and Lily-Rose Depp both brought their characters to light. All I'll say is Nosferatu is a fresh take on the true horror classic that delivers.

Merry Christmas to all celebrating. May it be a day of delights and warmth regardless for you all.

How unexpected. A portrait of Constantine XI dating from his reign and possibly even painted based upon direct observation of the man. Such tired eyes weighed heavy by the ever present doom of the ERE. Never sleep on quality restoration, it can be revealing. news.artnet.com/art-world/by...
