Summer in the #garden.

So that's what happens to old dogs, I suppose...

We can now share with you that the Pepper Wood Extension will be named the FAIRFIELD FOREST. The naming decision followed an extensive public consultation that too place 18 months ago. Signs are currently being erected at each of the entrance points.

Good day for #wildlife-spotting in the garden: #songthrush recorded in beech tree this morning; #ladybird colony seen on centaurea montana; plus helophilus pendulus (?) #hoverfly by the pond this afternoon. #worcswt.bsky.social

Lovely walled #garden at #croftcastle Herefordshire today, including this stunning #cornuskousa @nationaltrust.org.uk

@worcswt.bsky.social male large skipper? sunning himself at #WaseleyHillsCountryPark today.

Rather orange 7-spot #Ladybird seen at #WaseleyHillsCountryPark today. #WorcsWT

Lovely morning's walk in #WaselyHillsCountryPark. Special day.

Governments broken promises to protect nature with the new #Planning&InfrastructureBill Here’s a blog outlining why and what you can do about it. www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/blog/mike-pe... @worcswt.bsky.social #natureneedsyou #brokenpromises

The Govt promised to protect & restore nature. It's breaking this promise! We need everyone who cares about nature to stand up. Right now. Tell your MP that we won't stand by whilst wildlife protections are ripped up Blog 👉 www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/.../broken-p.... Action 👉 wtru.st/3SkLinU

Best thing in the #garden today and a happy accident that I can't claim any credit for as they seeded themselves! #flowers

Complete infestation of #erminemoth caterpillars in Sanders Park, Bromsgrove. Trees usually recover but this does look bad. @worcswt.bsky.social

Fresh local #Worcestershire strawberries. Unbeatable.

We welcomed the opportunity to speak to @tomcollinsworcs.bsky.social about a range of important nature conservation issues recently. We were able to alert him to our concerns of the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, for more on which see 👇 www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/blog/mike-pe...

Congratulations to new Fellow Julia Neville in Devon. I know how much work you have devoted to history over the past few years!

This is perfect! Thank you Malvern Hills District Council! @worcswt.bsky.social @worcestergreens.bsky.social

Disillusioned with the thought of returning to work tomorrow? Keen to make Trent Bridge your workplace manor? We're currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative. Apply here 👉 https://f.mtr.cool/nezufkdyaw

Last chance to catch the #bluebells at #Woodlandtrusts #PepperWood near #Bromsgrove. Not a soul there yesterday afternoon.

Elections for Nottingham City Council are not taking place today, but there are elections for Nottinghamshire County Council. Please check if there are local elections in your area and don’t forget to vote! www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter...

The first of my #iris pallida opened today, one of the few iris that have a scent. #flowers #gardening

One hundred and 11 years ago today my grandparents got married. My grandmother's bouquet was simply lilies of the valley. #flowers

Who doesn't love the sound of swifts screaming through our #Worcestershire skies? Swifts need all the help they can get and Simon Evans has been helping communities across the county to do just that 👏👇 www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/blog/wilder-...

Practising putting up Archangel Heritage's roller banner ahead of tomorrow's CIfA conference in #Birmingham. Come and say hello if you're also attending! www.archaeologists.net/events-train...

Isn't it bad enough that we've already lost the dark chocolate #Bounty?

Mine haven't changed. The dark one is the Best.

Our dreams of a dark chocolate Toblerone liveried rotary racer gone forever 😭 And yes the Toblerone livery is a thing

A strong start to our red-ball summer 💪 #NOTvSUS

A the turn of the 20th century the early #road atlases gave some thought to elevation. Ever thought #Birmingham was higher than #Sheffield? Or #Stow (on the Wold) higher than #KirkbyStephen?

This #AutismAwarenessMonth, I’m thinking of the thousands of autistic people in the UK facing disability benefits cuts due to PIP changes. As the National Autistic Society says, with 3 in 10 autistic people in work, the government should focus on improving job accessibility - not cut vital support.

Our statement on the Supreme Court's decision. We will have more to say in due course.

BBC News - Starmer does not believe trans women are women, No 10 says www.bbc.com/news/article... I seriously don't think I can vote Labour again. Sorry.

Akebia Quinta, chocolate vine at Easter Such a wonderful scent but I wouldn't say chocolate! #flowers🌱

First speckled wood #butterfly in the garden this year. @worcswt.bsky.social Plus a pair of orange tips and some holly blues. Too quick for me to photograph!

Disgusted at the unimaginative choice of names offered for the vote on #Bromsgrove's town centre office building. Recognition of Bromsgrove Guild would be more appropriate. And please can we have an #apostrophe after Nailers? @bromsgrove.bsky.social www.bromsgroveadvertiser.co.uk/news/2509698...

Just wondering how safe #women will feel when people with beards start using ladies' toilets- because that's the logic of it.

My heart just breaks for those who knew and loved this magnificent Oak. If such an ancient tree has no protection in law, what hope have we for the rest of Nature? I can't understand how anyone involved in arboriculture would agree to be involved in such a crime. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
