This headline is how I felt when I saw another consultation announced for Great British Rail. The government is the dog from the burning room "This is fine" meme, releasing another consultation while performance & industry workbank burns to the ground. www.railfreight.com/railfreight/...

A reminder here: to get a reliable railway you need to invest in the infrastructure. Germany didn’t (enough) for 2 decades. Now finally it’s catching up. Whether the trains on that infra are publicly or privately run isn’t central to on-time performance.

Yes, Swiss trains are reilable - with infrastructure maintenance that actually stops it from deteriorating. However, what stands out most to me is 98.7% of connections made. Do you know what ours is in the UK? No nor to I, and that is part of our problem. www.swissinfo.ch/eng/various/...
