udayton.edu/blogs/artssc... A University of Dayton story of my ACHA interview with Martin Scorsese at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral.

Very proud of the ACHA.

On January 3rd, 2025, as President of the American Catholic Historical Association, I interviewed Martin Scorsese and bestowed upon him the ACHA Distinguished Service Award, at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral, his boyhood parish. A wonderful conversation with the most significant filmmaker of our time.

What better way to wrap up the annual meeting than with Warp Catholicism! Here are photos from last nights final off-site panel. #AHA25 #ACHA2025

Incredible work by these two fine scholars of Catholic Studies. They help make @achahistory.bsky.social an exciting place for Catholic history. Join the ACHA and get to know them!

Photos from the Presidential Luncheon. Speakers included Outgoing president @anthonyb1939.bsky.social, incoming president Mary Dunn, and ACHA executive director Charles Strauss. #ACHA2025

This would not have happened without the great work of many people at the @achahistory.bsky.social such as yourself Mike, @charleststrauss.bsky.social, @monicalmercado.bsky.social @allison-isidore.bsky.social!

Great evening interviewing Martin Scorsese tonight at a special @achahistory.bsky.social event, held at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Listening to him share his reflections on what this place meant to him was remarkable.

Multitudes indeed! @monicalmercado.bsky.social and the rest of the Program Committee of the @achahistory.bsky.social have done a remarkable job putting together what promises to be an excellent conference in New York!

Our Fragile Juggernaut episode on labor in World War II is here, with the legendary @nelsonlichtenstein.bsky.social. What happens when you get full employment, price controls, mass migration to cities, and the integration of labor into the total war mobilization? podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/h...

“Don’t ask a dying man to lie his soul into hell!” Sam Levene to Ava Gardner in Robert Siodmak’s remarkable The Killers. Great line. Great film, part of the Siodmak retrospective at Film at Lincoln Center.
