James Gladstone looks like hes 20 years old and all of the jokes about it are funny

Still February but my big take on Miller, Crawford, Rincones, and Kemp is that they look like they belong in camp. Results don’t have to be there but the at bats generally look normal and it seems like there’s a lot of good reports about everyone’s maturity and vibe around the pros

Otto Kemp

The Jags look more competent than the Sixers and that’s partially because I like Coen and Gladstone. The Sixers being what they are helps too

I’m just gonna say this: there’s a lot you can’t read into at this point but you can with stuff Unless a guy loses a tick or 2 as camp goes on or something weird (which happens to guys but you can always change your analysis) you can make short sample conclusions generally

He probably doesn’t throw enough strikes for any real takes to matter but the guy has serious stuff man.

It is February 23 so reading into anything is not particularly meaningful, however John McMillon fastball velocity 2023: 99 mph avg / 100.7 mph max 2024: 95.3 mph avg / 99 mph max Today: 98.6 mph avg / 100.2 mph max

Oh man this stinks

How a player once labeled “one of the greatest players of our generation” ended up toiling away his last days on the 2015 Phillies @thegoodphight.bsky.social www.thegoodphight.com/2025/2/23/24...

It’s a small thing but they had Sosa taking most of his reps in center last week (obviously won’t be the case going forward) and it’s really funny how the Phillies can’t think of a direction for what they want in CF

The 2024-25 Sixers team slogan should be "drugs help"

Foul Territory is whatever but this is a good interview with Andrew Marchand on the MLB thing @joeedinger.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn8M...

Naturally on a Phillies site you decide to write about the AL West @thegoodphight.bsky.social www.thegoodphight.com/2025/2/22/24...

I’m curious if Clemens still gets traded at the end of camp with Wilson’s injury. I think they really want that spot to be a RHH

Man that sucks

Doug Pederson had questions about whether or not he could modernize his offense or build an inspiring staff. Baalke had BAD relationship problems but also valued traits way too much over actual play at times. He also signed too many guys with mediocre or bad track records (outside of Armstead)

I’ve convinced myself of a lot of bullshit the Jags have done over the years but this time feels different. Who knows how Gladstone + Coen works but they actually went for inspiring candidates (and they both decided to take the gig)

I wrote about a couple of camp storylines and defended Garrett Stubbs’s 2024 because he needs someone in his corner. @thegoodphight.bsky.social www.thegoodphight.com/2025/2/21/24...

Happy bday @demetrius.bsky.social love your work

Joe is partially joking here but I want to bring this up to start a more serious convo ESPN hasn’t showed to care that much about MLB but it’s kind of hard to blame them when MLB doesn’t give them a ton They don’t get the ASG and get worse playoff stuff than TBS

I have a lot of issues with how ESPN covers baseball but that’s really bad news

Getting distracted watching spring training baseball while trying to do actual work >>>

For @thegoodphight.bsky.social question of the day, I asked about whether the Devers situation in Boston could be an opportunity for the Phillies. Because it’s never too early in the season for hypothetical trades www.thegoodphight.com/2025/2/20/24...
