A School Of Rock Band in Illinois covering Pere Ubu a decade ago. I’m bummed there’s no video of the Hearpen era band, but this IS a charming surrogate. Esp the girl handling lead guitar and the kid in shades having fun making Ravenstine synth sounds. youtu.be/cD7EA4supk0

Mouthed “no fuckin way” spotting Zach Cregger on Homicide: Life In The Street, about a decade before The Whitest Kids U Know hit IFC, more than twenty years before he directed Barbarian. I have no idea how it happened, but this show was truly casting magic.

I just realized that Marvel put out a crazy long epic psychedelic tale about the meaning of life and man and woman and philosophy with Aubrey Plaza more than FIVE YEARS before Francis Ford Coppola. Legion is over 20 hours long and the auteur SINGS over much of it. Do cineastes even know?
